She was sunning on a large rock in the clearing. She was content. She needed time away from the clan so she walked and decided to sun. She closed her eyes and lay there.

Featherflight jumped to her feet as soon as she heard Waningpaw. She cursed under her breath and quickly hid the kits behind her. She meowed softly "Hello, Waningpaw. What are you doing out here?" She realised he must of followed her but for how long. She wrapped her tail round the hidden kits. She waited to see what Waningpaw said. She hoped he hadn't seen the kits but he could of heard her call their names. She smiled softly, hiding her fear.

Leafkit jumped at the unknown voice. She quickly hid behind her mum with the others. She shuck with fear and clung onto her mother's tail. Her claws were unsheathed, so her claws dug into Featherflight's tail. She didn't dare to make a sound not to even breath. She looked widely around. She looked at Hawkkit and Speckledkit. She saw fear on both her brother's faces. That was defiantly not like Hawkkit who always put on a brave face. But then again who was this other cat? Her mother seemed to know him.

Speckledkit was relaxing happily when he heard the voice. Jumping to his feet, he hid behind his mother. He looked for a something to make the situation better but couldn't find one. He couldn't shake the fear off his face. What would happen? Who was this cat? Would he hurt them? He wasn't sure about other cats. He dared not to make a noise.

Hawkkit ran quickly behind his mother. What was he doing? This wasn't like him! But what else could he do. If he stepped out fro behind his mother, their secret would be out. He wasn't sure about this cat and didn't trust him. The other cat might of seen them or heard his mother call them. He shuck the thought out of his head. He was about to sigh but held it in. He tried to hide the fear on his face but couldn't.

Birchtail was looking round for his apprentice, Waningpaw. He mumbled "Where is that apprentice?" He decided that the young tom only wanted to probably to explore and was doing that. Anyway he'd done that as an apprentice and it was only fair. He decided he'd give him a today to frolic around. He sighed and padded around. He came into a clearing and saw Silverstrike. He continued shaking his head. He padded up to the she cat and smiled happily. He said calmly "Hello Silverstrike, how are you?" He sat down, wrapping his tail around his feet.

She smiled "well hello, Birchtail. How are you this fine day?" She asked him. She struggled to keep her composure but she made it work.

Waningpaw's eyebrow raised at the mew. "Right, no kits here, huh?" He tried to walk around the medicine cat to see what was behind her. He wondered why she was hiding a kit or three behind her. What did she have to worry about, the clan would happily accept a kit into their ranks. They would be cared for.

Flint padded a bit faster as he was already on the moorland. "I hope I pass." He mewed as his tail drooped.
His tail shot up as he saw a rabbit running across the stretch of land. Flint started to dart after the rabbit. He had started to catch up to the rabbit as he got faster every paw step. He jumped up and got a blow onto it as the rabbit slowed down. Flint had the chance to get it as he landed in front of the rabbit and unsheathed his claws. He killed it as he picked it up and started to settle down to eat.

Featherflight blocked the apprentice from seeing the kits. Her ears dropped. Leafkit had let out a scared meow by accident. She sighs. She wonders what to do. Tell the truth? Or lie? She wasn't a good liar and didn't like to lie. She'd have to tell the truth. Anyway Waningpaw by now was completely suspicious by her behaviour. She wondered if the apprentice would keep a secret or tell the world. She hoped not the later. She sighed. She looked round at the kits and quickly back to Waningpaw. She said quickly "Ok, ok, I'll tell you Waningpaw but you need to keep a secret?"

Birchtail smiled at Silverstrike. He nodded in respect and said "Yes, I'm fine on this gorgeous day, what about you and are you doing anything today?" He tilted his head slightly to one side. His sandy coloured fur shone in the sun.

Waningpaw smiled. "Hey, who can I tell? Featherstar will gut me if she finds out I left again!" He placed his black paw further forwards than his other one and lay down, yawning. "I won't tell anyone anything. I just don't think it is safe to keep kits out here..." He shook his head. "And there is no reason to hide them, I know they are here..."

Featherflight smiled. She said gently, facing the kits, "Ok kits, this is Waningpaw, it's ok to come out." She lifted her sandy tail. She said gently to Waningpaw "Well, Waningpaw. The truth is why I've been hiding these kits is because their mine and I didn't know what would happen if Featherstar or anyone else found out." She tried to smile but struggled. What would happen? He pointed to his black and sandy coloured chimera sister and said "And that's Leafkit." Finally he pointed to Speckledkit and said And finally that's Speckledkit."

Waningpaw smiled and waved his black paw in the air to welcome the kits. "Hello," he said nicely, his grin huge. "I didn't think that Medicine cats were supposed to have kits!" He walked over and sat down in front of the kits, unsure if he would be allowed to play with them. They were still small, no more than a few moons old. It made waning wonder how FeatherFlight had kept them secret all this time and when they had been born. "And I'm sure FeatherStar would be fine with them, she wouldn't hate any kit. After all, I'm still here, aren't I?"
