A small cracking disrupted Hailkit from his calming dream of his mother, her sweet scent and soft fur faded when he opened his eyes. Groggily he glanced around the nursery, scenting not seeing anything Hailkit streached. He arched his back and un-sheathed his claws as he streatched his forepaws. He recoled back up into a little ball and slapped his fluffy tail over his muzzle. Before he could dose of again, his ear twitched at the noise again. This time the little kit decided to investigate, slowly he crawled out of his best and peeped his head out the nursery enterence. He felt a stab of disappointment its only the cats in the camp he grumbled as he took a few steps out of the nursery and hunched over, wrapping my his tail over his paws I wish somthing exciting would happen, I'm so bored all the time! Why can't I go train, I'm nearly old enough... he thought as he eyes the apprentices den.

The medicine cat sat in camp grooming herself and noticed the little kit walking out of the nursery. She followed along and scared the kit from behind. "Hello Hailkit! Up to something? You should be in the nursery." Honeylight gave off a small pur.

"Careful with your words Emberpaw, I'm the one to tell Cinderstar when you're ready to become a warrior. You haven't passed many things I wanted to see from a cat, like yourself. I expected more from you." Dawnfire is in a blaze of anger but spoke calmy. Soon she had to tell Cinderstar his progress, and she'll know the leader won't be pleased with his behavior. "Until I see signs of what I am looking for, you might never become a warrior."

Dawnfire let out a sigh, she didn't want to push the apprentice. "Emberpaw, I have expected more from you. Don't take it the wrong way, you haven't passed a few things I wanted to see. It doesn't seem that you respect me, and believe me, I want to train you to be a fine warrior. I am an senior warrior, so just start taking my advice as well." She meowed, before padding off. "But I'll see what Cinderstar has to say about today, and I will give you a punishment for giving such a rude additude. See if Honeylight needs any help, Eveningpaw has been a little fatigue and I know she wants her apprentice to rest. Maybe some of my sisters kindness will rub on you."

Hailkit purred when he saw Honeyflight "I know, but I wanna do somthing... I'm so bored my tail could fall off." he mewed with a quick blink. The kit glanced at his paws then back at the medicine cat "Do you need any help? I could help you collect herbs!" he meowed hopefully. He not only wanted to be useful, but he hoped that he'd be able to see beyond the camp. He held his gaze, purring pfft, as if I'm going to be able to leave camp... But it's worth a try! And if I can help, I'd be helping the clan! he thought to himself Im so clever, coming up with my own plan.. I could even be clan leader one day!! Because I come up with such good ideas!! he thought with a jolt of pride.

Honeylight meowed with small laughter, "Well what do you want to be when you grow up? A medicine cat or warrior? I can't like a kit go out of camp, do you even know what some of the names of my herbs?" She looked down at the excited kits eyes, gleaming to go out for an adventure. She smiled and shook her head at Hailkit.

Swallowpaw agreed and followed the other cats to the beach. As she was walking along she smelt something strange in the air and dismissed it as superstition. They soon reached the beach, the sun was high in the air by now and the sea was reflecting it off the waves. "Should we hunt now?" she suggested.

Hailkit made a face "I want to be a warrior of course!!!" he mewed in protest, lashing his tail "But it can't hurt for a warrior to know a few things about healing. Because what if some warriors go on a quest, and one gets hurt... But they are too far away from home, who is going to help them then???" he mewed with a purr "I know a few herbs... Juniper, I think that's good for tummy aches or somthing, catmint... Well everyone knows that catmint is for greencough, borage is good for sick cats... I remember it from when my mom was sick...." Hailkit held his mouth, unable to say anything more. He wished he hadn't brought up his mother, He glanced at his paws than back at Hineyflight hoping that maybe he'd still have a chance to explore.
