Cicatrix was bored. That is, helplessly bored. Being surrounded by a bunch of dopey, lustful stallions, all thinking that they're the best got very boring because, truthfully, Cicatrix knew he could best any of them in a scuffle. The bay roan stallion stretched out his neck and snorted. Being that it was mid-spring, the young stallion knew he should be looking to start his own band. However, it seemed that every stallion was looking to start a band and Cicatrix was not in the mood for a scuffle. He turned his head back to his withers to scratch himself. Cicatrix released a sigh of contentment as the itch was erased. Releasing another snort, the stallion plodded down the hill and farther into the valley. The sound of the river trickling over the rocks made the stallion smile. He loved spring.

The white stallion made his way through the field as he headed to the lake where most of the horses would be during the spring. His ears swiveled backwards as he heard something move in the brush behind him. The stallion quickly turned around and moved quietly towards the noise. Another horse? A predator? Or just a bird? The animal was downwind from him, so he couldn't use his sense of smell to identify it. He crept forward silently, ready to turn and run if a predator was waiting for him.

The paint stallion was eating a patch of lush grass in the meadow as he heard an odd noise. He turned around to see what it was and let out a quiet nicker. Cheveyo was confident that he'd be able to outrun any predators that challenged him, but he was still a bit cautious sometimes. He wasn't afraid of any other stallions because he was confident that he was clever enough to evade any fights.

The tall black and white mare stood at a corner of the large meadow and ate some of the plants. Her ears swiveled around as she heard the call of a strange bird. She lifted her head and managed to catch a glimpse of it as it flew away. It's feathers were a striking blue that shined in the sunlight. The mare tossed her mane and bent her head back down to eat some of the grass.

The mare ran towards the lake after she smelled the stale scent of a dingo. It didn't matter if the scent was stale, they could still be lurking nearby. She could still remember the day that she when she was a colt that wandered away from her mother and had been attacked by a dingo. The dingoes were very dangerous because the hunted in packs and one pack could easily take down a young horse. She shivered at the thought and flicked a fly that was sitting on her flank off with her long black and white tail.

The wise paint mare laid in the shade of a tree while keeping alert for any noises that indicated another animal was nearby. Her ears swiveled around as she heard something moving in her direction. Aphrodite immediately stood up and looked towards where the noise was coming from.

The dappled mare stood in a clearing with her ears pricked forward alertly. Her dark brown tail swished from side to side as she listened quietly to the noises around her. The wind blowing through the grass was definitely the most calming noise of them all.

➵XShe stretched her muscles ever so slightly as she amply trotted along the edge of the tree-line. She was heading in the direction of one of her more favored areas to get water. It was a large, but clean, pond shaded by the trees which kept it nice and cool. She enjoyed it best during the long hot days that summer brought, but as spring came around, it was also very enjoyable. She kept her ears pricked up as always, alert incase of any danger or other annoyances. Despite her size, she made little or no noise at all. Soon she reached the pond, breathing in the fresh sent of dew and flowers as she bent her neck over to get a drink. Her tail flicked from side to side to keep away the pesky flies. She took a long sip of the water, enjoying its refreshing coldness. She raised her head away from the water when she had finished, though stayed looking at her reflection in the water. She sighed with exasperation. Although she enjoyed the peace, it sometimes began to cross the borderline onto boredom.

The black mare whinnied happily as she raced around a long stretch of grass. She hadn't been able to run freely in a field like this for a while, so Pepper felt quite pleased as she continued to gallop. She finally stopped to get a drink of water, and trotted off in search of a field. She finally found a large lake in which she drank her fill with pleasure. She then lifted her head up from the lake and gave a satisfied neigh as she was about to trot off to find that field again.

Thunder gave a drowsy snort as he awoke from his slumber. He had fallen asleep unexpectedly as he was travelling last night. His body must have reached its limit, and forced him to fall asleep. He blinked away the sleep from his eyes as he got to his hooves, stretching out his muscles. Thunder then set his eyes on a good patch of grass and began eating vigorously. As his mother always said: "If you want to grow big and strong, eat as much as you can!"

The bay roan stallion shook his mane before plunging into the water. The water was icy cold but refreshing in the blazing sun. Cicatrix sunk to his knees and proceeded to roll in the river. His coat was cleansed of any tick or any other parasites and he washed the muck out of his mane. After his bath, the stallion trotted out of the river. He broke into a canter, his tail perked high and his nostrils flaring. With a lurch, Cicatrix started a gallop and galloped towards the trees. He knew that there a clover patch was and his tongue longed for the sweet taste of clover.

Cicatrix slowed to a steady canter once he passed beneath the trees and into the clearing. He perked his ears and came to a sliding stop as a scent snaked up his nose. Swiveling his ears and sniffing cautiously, the stallion smelled the strong scent of a mare. He plodded slowly nearer to the patch of clover before his eyes adjusted. There he saw a brindled blue mare standing before a pond. He let loose a low nicker before uttering, "Looking for something?"

➵XShe stayed at a calm outward appearance though on the inside she felt as if she would jump out of her hooves due to being startled. She had gotten distracted in her own reflection and hadn't heard anyone else enter the clearing. She silently scowled at herself. " I found what I needed. " She responded as she looked up and away from the water, thus also looking away from her reflection in the water, and finally she turned her gaze towards the horse, a slightly shorter bay roan stallion. She didn't see any other stallions or mares, meaning no band or herd. She contemplated leaving now, but decided the conversation wasn't doing any harm, but stayed a bit on edge however just incase things went too far for her comfort.

The white stallion saw a black mare with a splash of white on her head as he approached the lake. The water was shimmering because of the way the sun reflected off of it. His blue eyes focused on the water as her trotted past the mare and to the cool, refreshing water of the lake. He dipped his muzzle into the cool water and took a drink that made him feel refreshed. Prince swept his tail back and forth as he drank. ''How are you today?'' He didn't know the mare, but he wasn't going to seem pushy by introducing himself or asking her what her name was. A friendly hello would be enough. Mares would never stop to talk to a stallion who was acting arrogant.

Cicatrix let his smile spread. He flicked his ear, a mischievous look in his eye. He silently breathed in the scent of this mare. It had been too long since he had last smelled a mare. The mare before him appeared to be of the same age as him, further exciting the young stallion. Cicatrix ponderously pawed the ground and tossed his head. With a swish of his tail, the stallion circled behind the mare and then trotted a half-circle to face her. His muzzle a mere inch away from hers, Cicatrix grinned even more before inquiring, "And, my darling, what would be your name?"

"Oh, hello." She said, her tail swishing around lightly. Pepper's main concern was others seeing her blue eye, and of course it just had to be a windy day. Luckily the wind wasn't too strong, so her black bangs managed to keep her eye concealed. She hoped this Stallion wasn't going to try and charm her, as she was not interested in Stallions at the moment.
