''Hidden deep in the Australian Alps live the Brumbies. These feral horses live on these rocky stretches of mountain and attempt to survive attacks from humans, dingoes, and many other harmful animals that live in parts of these mountains. The dingoes hunt them for food, but the people are a completely different story. They round up these horses to domesticate them and make them into their pets. The Brumbies are constantly evading them while they try to keep their herds safe from any harm. Sometimes horses that are domesticated escape from their homes with people and try to join the feral herds like you want to. Don't worry, the feral horses can tell the difference between a horse who was born in the wild and one that is domesticated, but they don't usually mind. The Brumbies are alert to anything they find suspicious and they are hard to find after they've been alerted to your presence. Good luck finding these Brumbies and make sure that you avoid the Dingos. I'm sorry, but I'm going to stay with my owners young one,'' the tall male horse tells you from his stall as you go to leave. ''I'm going to be careful, Lucky,'' you call over your shoulder. ''I'll see you again soon. I promise.'' As you say farewell to your friend you trot out of the barn and breathe in the fresh air. On the lower parts of the alps there isn't usually any snow until it's Winter. Snow blankets the mountain landscape during the Winter, but it doesn't make food too hard to find. At the higher parts of the Alps it is almost always snowy. You won't find many horses up there because few would prefer the coldness of the higher regions to the warmness of the lower regions. There are rivers and streams that run down the Australian Alps, but there is also a lake which the horses tend to stay near during the spring. The Alps has some trees, but there aren't many. Dingoes usually hunt in packs and they rarely go after full grown horses, but they will prey on foals.

The snow is almost completely melted and the mares are starting to have their foals. The dingoes and other predators are caught trying to steal foals more frequently. Stallions will become more aggressive while they try to find as many mares as they can.
Summer {}
The weather is getting much hotter and the stallions are still searching for mares. There are still many mares that are having their foals. The dingoes aren't as dependant on the foals, but they still will hunt them if they have the chance.
Fall {}
The weather is getting chillier and the stallions aren't as focused on mares anymore. The horses start to worry about eating more food because winter is approaching. There is occasionally a mare that has a foal, but that is very rare during this season. The grass isn't growing back as quickly and what little trees there are start to loose their leaves.
Winter {}
It will start snowing quickly after fall. There aren't any mares that are having foals anymore and the stallions are not worried about finding mares. They have gotten very protective of their herd and are constantly on alert for any predators. The stallions tend to move the mares from place to place more frequently so that they are able to find more food.

☩ The Brumbies are a mix of horse breeds, so your horse can't be purebred unless it was originally a domesticated horse.
☩ One hand in horse height is equal to 4 inches. It is used to measure a horse at the highest point of the withers. The withers is located between the shoulder blades of a horse. You can have a horse that is 13.3 hands, but it can't be 13.4 because it would be another whole hand.
☩ The tallest horse that you could have would most likely be a Clydesdale and they would probably stand no taller than 20 hands.
☩ Stallions may try to steal mares from a stallion that has a herd.
☩ Stallions may form a band together and the dominant male of the band will get the mares if they find any. Another dominant male will take over the group. A stallion will not be welcomed back into a band after they leave.
☩ Mares go through four heat stages. They aren't interested in stallions during stage one. They're more interested in stallions during stage two. They're very likely to breed during stage three. They will breed with almost any stallion during stage four.
☩ Fillies and colts will leave their herd around the age of 2.

Sometimes she can seem very calm, but other times she's very irritable and energetic. Miakoda is a very young mare, so she's inexperienced with pretty much everything. She's been recently chased from the herd that she was in before. Many find that she's very stubborn and she doesn't like to listen to anyone. This causes her to get into trouble with predators and other dangers a lot. She can be caring and once she gets to know you she will be absolutely loyal and weather the most terrible times with the horse. Miakoda has trust issues, so it takes a long time for her to fully trust anyone. ☾

✰ Miakoda was born into a herd with her mother. She has a pretty normal history up until the time that she wandered away from the herd and was attacked by a nearby Dingo. It had howled for it's pack, but it attacked her before they got there. Some of horses that were nearby managed to chase the Dingo away long enough for them to leave the area. She was kicked out of her herd after she was the age of a year or two. Miakoda has been wandering around by herself so far and hasn't encountered any other horses. ☾
