妹子看了3次才懂，呵呵。我会说：

我是一个生在加拿大的中国人。（ 主要是更直接）

Honestly, it doesn't matter, but I wouldn't say "我是ㅡ個加拿大人也是ㅡ個中国人", unless you are dual-citizenship or the like.

Because in direct translation, you're telling someone you "are both Canadian and also Chinese". If you were speaking Chinese, it would be okay, but written Chinese is like written English, which is very different from their spoken counterparts.

I guess most people would understand, but technically, you are not what you said. If you were born in Canada, you are of Canadian citizenship, right? By terms, yes, you are 加拿大人. But saying you are also 中国人 gives the impression of being also Chinese, as in having a Chinese citizenship. Again, in context, and if this was spoken, they would understand. However, it is better to use what I described above, as that statenent uses the two countries as more accurate adjectives; Chinese by blood, Canadian by legal level.

If you don't want to tell the person you were born in Canada, rather just that you are living in Canada, 我是一个生在加拿大的中国人 changes to 我是一个住在加拿大的中国人, replace 生 with 住.

Anyhow, both ways will work but like woth any langage, I prefer being short and consise xD
