When Mothpaw didn't come out she gave a heavy sigh and followed her mentor, her tail drooping slightly. She hardly noticed the two kits sitting side by side, a snake laying in front of them "What happened!" she hissed, her tail fur puffing.

Adderbite leapt up the rocks, watching her leap from rock to rock. His breath caught and he froze as her back paws fumbled, releasing his breath as she clawed her way up. "coming!" he meowed, following a similar route that she took. He leapt across the rock, his back paws barely landing. He cringe as a sharp pain darted through his leg and up his spine from his wound that was still healing but continued forward, a slight limp in his gait.

Thistlekit let out a sharp yowl once again, trotting around the snake until he sat close to Maplepaw. "We killed a snake!" he meowed, his chest puffed with pride as he looked up at Acorntail. "Sandstar! Sandstar!" he yowled trying to get the leader's attention.

Sandstar, who was basking outside of the den, heard the shrill calls of a kit. She stood up, alarmed, only to see Thistlekit calling to her. "Yes, Thistlekit?"

Mothpaw padded out of the den, alarmed by the calls of Thistlekit.

Thistlekit gaze proudly at his new friend and then down at the snake between his paws. "We killed a snake!" he meowed, his tail puffed. "Look!"

(Oh Kabuki and I decided it was poisonous, not deadly but poisonous non the less)

Sandstar walked over silently, inspecting the kill. Suddenly, she reeled back. "Thistlekit!" She hissed, fur bristling. "Did this snake bite you at all?"

Thistlekit's ears fell flat against his head, but he looked up at her with a fierceness in his eyes. "No, I killed it." he meowed, his small voice matter of fact as he met Sandstar's eyes.

[Olivesaurus]

Sandstar's eyes were fierce as she spoke to the kit. "And you're very lucky you killed it, and not the opposite. This snake is poisonous. If it had bit you, you'd be dead this very moment." But the she-cat wasn't done. "What were you thinking, leaving camp? You know the rules, kits stay in camp. They cannot oartake in thing apprentices and warriors do. You could've been killed!"

Thistlekit let out a hiss of annoyance "But I wasn't killed! And neither was Maplepaw!" he snapped, narrowing his eyes. His tail thrashed behind him. He briefly caught sight of his siblings, wide-eyed. Mothpaw too looked shocked at the way Thistlekit snapped at Sandstar and suddenly, his pelt burned with anger but he dropped his eyes before his leader could see it. "Sorry..." he mumbled, though his tail still thrashed, and his tiny claws had unsheathed and dug into the ground.

"I don't care that you wanted to explore. You heard what I said. Besides, I bet your parents didn't give you permission, so they'll be very cross with you." Sandstar firmly meowed, looking for Lunarwing or Petalflower.

Mothpaw padded over to Mistpaw. "I don't think they realize how angry Sandstar is." He whispered to the she-cat.

Lunarwing watched her kits play. She knew Thistlekit had gone off with Maplekit, but she couldn't see him in camp. At first she was just searching calmly, but her eyes soon grew frantic. "Thistlekit, where are you?" She whispered, her tail flicking.

Oakkit played with a ball of moss, completely unaware of his mother's situation.
