Venus smiled, nosing at the little kit that looked very much like Rowanpaw herself. "One healthy kit!" She announced with a grin, Rowanpaw raising her head and breathing out a sigh of relief, wishing that Russetfang was by her side. "Is it a boy or a girl?" She asked with a faint mewl. "Its a girl." Venus reported happily, licking at the kit's pelt. "I'm glad its a girl." She said with a soft nod, tears pooling in her amber eyes. "What will her name be?" the shecat asked, wondering if she had decided a name. "Daisy..."

|| I woke up out of the ether with an utterly abandoned feeling, and asked the nurse right away if it was a boy or a girl. She told me it was a girl, and so I turned my head away and wept. 'All right,' I said, 'I'm glad it's a girl. And I hope she'll be a fool – that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.' ||

Russetfang smiled, "You can just join mine, if you want. I think I'll take out a border patrol. I'll also bring..." He looked around, "Oh! My apprentice, Whitepaw, and... Thornblaze!" There were so many cats that he wished were there. Streampaw, Bluemoon, Icesky, Russetwing, Snowbird, Snowpaw, Tiger... Rowanpaw. He wondered where Rowanpaw was, what she was doing. If she was okay.

"Sounds like an excellent patrol," Whiteleaf said. She hadn't stopped smiling the entire time. "While you get and your apprentice, is it okay if I take a piece of prey to my brother?"

Thornblaze nodded swiftly, the calico joining his side quickly. "Congratulations." He told him, bending giving his old apprentice a lick on the top of his head, swelling with proudness.

Venus smiled. "Congratulations." She admired. Rowanpaw sighed, not feeling tired at all she stood up slowly. Venus grinned. "Venus, i need one more favor from you." She mewd. "And that is?" Rowan sighed, taking in a deep breath. "I need you to adopt my little daisy into your family." She said softly, "I know you were pregnant at one point, but by the looks of things you lost the kits, but you still ahve the milk." She reported, Venus looking down at the cave floor. "I can do that." She said softly. Rowanpaw nodded. "Thank you, for everything, really. I can come back in a few weeks to check in on you two, but i must be getting back to my clan." "Leaving so soon?" Venus said in disbelief. "I can't have this kit imprinting on me." She said simply, brushing herself against her new best friend. "I will be back soon, and thank you, again. Please give Daisy a loving home, let her grow strong." She said softly before retreating into the forest. "Tell her i love her." She called back, she couldn't wait to get back to Russetfang, she could not wait another day, another minute.

Russetfang nodded, "That's alright." He looked up at Thornblaze, "Hey." he greeted.

Daisy mewed softly and squirmed against Venus, cold, blind, deaf, and scared.

Whitetleaf dipped her head. She padded to the prey pile, picking up a scrawny piece. She carried it towards the elders' den.

Rowanpaw sprinted through the forest, wary, hoping for the best, sprinting past the cherry trees, climbing over the rocks, and emerging towards the forest around camp.

Venus leaned down, licking the kit's soft fur. "Shhhh." She whispered. "You are going to be alright."

Russetfang quietly watched Whiteleaf carry prey to her brother. He then looked at his paws and when he looked up he saw LeafFall run to him and push him playfully to the ground, "You made it! How does it feel to have a non-evil high rank?" She inquired jokingly.

Russetfang laughed and kicked her off, shaking out his fur and getting back to his feet, "Good, good. Listen, I'll talk to you later." His sister nodded understandingly and quietly skipped off.

Rowanpaw stopped, spotting Russetfang surrounded by others in the forest, she sunk back, feet sliding in the snow as she started to breath heavy, eyes widening in fear. What if he found someone new? No... he would not do that...
