Say you get a character and find out its part of a closed species. You go to check out the closed species to find that all the info on the species has been deleted by the species owner. You ask them about it and they tell you they are just not into adopts anymore. So you ask if you can just take off the closed species status of your new character sense you know almost nothing about the species and have no source to gain info from but continue to credit them for the design, they read your question but they don't answer back. What do you do? Do you message them again about it a few days later? Do you leave them as their species though theres no info on the species? Or do you just do your own thing sense they had the chance to reply already.
Hm.. this is a difficult question, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents.
First thing I'd consider is how long has it been since they read your message? If it's only been a day, definitely wait. The person may be busy or might have very spotty internet while they're on vacation, so they might not be able to answer you back right now. Or, they may just be shy, and aren't sure how to reply. I'd definitely advise that you wait first, if it hasn't been too long. If it's been...like.. over two weeks, though? Then I'd probably try sending a message again.

I'd definitely try to get in touch with them again first. If after that, however, you find nothing, I'd probably just change a few tiiiny little things on the design so they aren't exactly like the closed species, and then go off from there. Again, that's just me... But I do hope you find resolution in this!

I need a easy way to organize my characters, what is the easiest way to do so besides Sta.sh?

In my honest opinion, if you're talking just about organization, toyhou.se is the best. No, you can't customize the pages like people do with their weebly sites. But it's just by far the best place to upload images, keep track of credits, and store characters. If you're seeking a more interactive and personal site, weebly is better, but you can't interact with other weebly users at all, whereas toyhou.se has a fantastic system set up for trading characters as well as a forum for socializing.

The only place I say avoid like the plague is charahub. It's a chaotic mess on there, tbh, and you can only actually store up to 10 pictures per character without paying money for it. In my opinion the creators of toyhou.se saw charahub and all of its problems and just made something better.

Yeah, toyhou.se is still not totally open for public registration. There are a lot of people selling codes on DA though. Some people give them away for free sometimes if you know where to look and who to ask. But if any of you want codes, I'd be willing to part with them for just a couple WL pets or WL items? If I am more familiar with you then I'd be glad to give you one for free.

Something similar happened to me, and I have to be honest with you, I don't think it's ever right to take the closed species status off of another person's closed species without their explicit permission. Since they haven't answered you, you should really keep using the character as a closed species. If they get back to you one day and give you permission, then that's great, but otherwise it's wrong to just remove that aspect of the character. I don't think there's ever a point where the right thing to do is to "do your own thing."

I would give them a few weeks to answer, maybe a month, before PMing them again. But I would really frown upon doing anything to the character or the design without their permission.

My story was pretty different, but when this happened to me I ended up returning the character. It was a sad loss, so I know how you feel. You could always try to make a new character inspired by the old one, but make sure not to copy or steal the design.

honestly toyhouse is pretty good for an EASY way,but its not the best organization you can do,better than stash tho. but you do need an invite!
i also recommend a simple icon based set-up on weebly,or even just a gallery on it with basic oc info,ect
it keeps refs nice & neat for me! which you can see in use here
granted its much more upkeep to do icons than toyhouse,as you have to crop them yourself & link out images but it keeps it tidy & not a giant page stretcher. a basic 100x100 icon linking out to an image works wonders with commissions as well imo

I'm going to go ahead and agree that toyhouse is definitely one of the easiest ways to organize characters. I've got two sites in which I store my characters- one being toyhouse, and the other wix, seeing as weebly doesn't work for me ;-;
Again, the only down side is that you have to have a code to register.

I haven't had the chance to use weebly, but I'm guessing wix is almost the same? Personally, I enjoy customizing my character site, it's really fun and there's so much to learn and explore (:

Personally, don't take off the closed species thing until they've given you the OK. If you are unsure and they are not replying, maybe you can send another message within a few days. If they still don't reply, send another one notifying that if they don't reply within 1 months (because I feel like that would be enough time to reply to one message right?) then you will assume it is ok to take off the close species and just make it your char. (make sure you state this clearly in your PM though). At least, that's what I would do x]

Anyways, I made these lines but I have no inspiration. I would love if people could PM me with some palette and design ideas and themes and I will make you a custom.

i would say that if they don't care about the speice do what you please. I mean if they lost intrest there not going to reinforce the code of the them. i mean if your that worried just message and ask them just so you get an ok. but i really don't think they will care to much
