The petite molly edged to the side of the entrance to the medicine cat's den, her pelt twitching
as a fly landed on her flank. Fur shuddering, the breeze wasn't exactly warming her. Her orange
and black markings darkened her ivory pelt to a silver, green eyes piercing the dark den. Ah,
Batpaw got to him already. A flash of sorrow went through her irises as she started Hawkcry down,
but her tail raised as soon as she figured- she could just see him tomorrow. After giving the
handsome tom a last glance and quickly spotting Dogtail and her kits, she turned tail from the
group of cats and headed to the warrior's den, giving her brother a nod of the head before
entering the nestled area. Curling up in her nest at the corner of the den, in a dark area, she
closed her eyes and attempted her plight into a lovely sleep.

I watch as the two cats walk to Scorchstars den. I turn away spotting a large bird on the freshkill pile. I purr, thankful for such a great hunter in our clan. I spot Tallfern and trot over to talk to him. "Hello Tallfern. Did you catch that vulture?" I meow, taking a seat in front of him.

Dustspeck let out a soft purr, the tip of his tail curling slightly. He leaned down, nibbling at the leftovers of their meal "I'm glad" he meowed, glancing over at her. He felt his fur prickle as the cool night air sunk into his pelt, the moon shimmering down into the clearing. He moved slightly, his body shifting closer to her, but he was very cautious about her comfort, watching her muscles, ready to move back if she tensed.

"Hawkcry's pretty beat up - but I'm sure that the other cat must not look all that great, either." Softberry answered for the warrior, so he wouldn't have a chance to protest the 'staying in the camp' order. She may not have been a leader, but her orders were just as important. They could save lives. "You can come in if you want - Dogtail should be moved to the nursery in a day or two, when the kits aren't in danger of dying from moving shock." As if answering, Stripekit mewled softly and snuggled closer to her mother.

Waspclaw gently rasped his tongue over the she-cat's ear, trying to comfort her a bit. "You'll see him again, one day, I'm sure of it. But you should probably focus on the future, your future, and pull your head out of the past. It's all you can do."[/color]

Fawnleap stiffened as Waspclaw drew close to her, but managed to relax as the tom touched her ear. "Thank you Waspclaw," she mewed warmly. His words brought comfort and her thoughts of joining her father seemed to be pushed even farther into the future as her muscles loosened up. The small she-cat relaxed against Waspclaw's body before giggling suddenly. "Finchstep would be livid if he saw us. He can be a bit protective," she managed to get in between her giggles.

The russet colored she-cat gazed at the remnants of the rabbit with a look of disappointment. She didn't quite want to end her evening with Dustspeck. With a sigh, Owlflight began to dig a small hole to bury the bones in. Once she deemed it suitable, she used her tail to sweep them in followed by the the dirt. The warrior had been about to say goodnight when she felt Dustspeck shift closer. Her ears turned pink as she pretended not to notice and gazed up at the stars that were beginning to become visible in the night sky high above them.

Waspclaw was surprised to feel Fawnleap relax and open up to him. His heart may have skipped a beat. "Well, I'll talk to him about it sometime." The tom knew he'd only see the tom in the stars, but sometimes a cat saw those who had gone to Starclan in their dreams. "But until then, I'll be here to protect you. Okay?"

She nodded. "You can help me! Until you can run around again!" She purred nicely. "Unless you don't want to..." she said and looked at Hawkcry. "It'll be fun..." she promised. The she-cat licked her kits and then herself.

Softberry purred and laid down beside Dogtail, knowing that the queen and her kits would probably move out tomorrow. The den was really crowded, with the five of them and Pearly and Hawkcry, as well as herself and Tinypaw. Perhaps she would sleep at the entrance tonight. "I'm surprised at how quiet these kits are being - usually they're always mewling and whining. Be prepared for long nights, Dogtail. Do you want some herbs to increase your milk flow? Four kits are a lot."
