Rockfoot left the central clan area and went to the fresh kill pile, planning on nibbling on a mouse. But when she got there, she noticed the low stock of prey, so she headed out of the cave just as the burst was clearing up, being careful to avoid fallen embers and dipping her head to Sealpaw on her way out. With all the excitement, she completely forgot about Flickerkit...

Flickerkit woke, alone and nervous, his recent nightmare fresh in his memory. The flickering had been rising high above him, leaving him alone and scared, until a soft furriness had surrounded him and made everything seem alright, like sleeping curled up next to his mother. But Flickerkit's mom had told him he needed to be strong. So Flickerkit held back a sniffle and padded into the strange new clan. He saw several cats milling around, and the cat who had saved him was standing on a high rock in the cavern. The other cat who was there, however, was nowhere to be found. Normally this would scare Flickerkit, as he would worry about the endless possibilities of what could have happened to her, but the recent visit from his mom echoed in Flickerkit's brain and he decided to ask the cat on the high up rock.
