you thought you were living the life, in a fancy home, but you're wrong. ever since you've watched the junk yard dos, you would have loved to run alongside them, be then, live like them. your parents, siblings, and owners tried to keep you either locked in the house, or on a chain in the back yard. each time you get chained in the yard you trash it, looking for a way out. "Far from here is where I want to be. Somewhere out there, loose and running. Nobody's leash to hold me. Nobody's hugs to crush me. Nobody's soap and scratchy comb to bathe and brush me." You sing something you heard from one of your little owners movies, though you can never find out the rest of the lyrics. you try running past the fence, but you end up falling back with your chain, only close enough to see the junk yard dos chasing the dog catcher outside the white fence. Suddenly, the dog catcher's hat landed in your yard, then a head poked through a hole in the fence, "hey." she barked, her eyes glittering with a light playfulness. "uh," you mumble, grabbed the cap and hand it to her, "you might need this." you bark, then plop down on your bottom. why? you ask, why should I be tangled up?
feeling a jerk of your leash, you fall back once more, growling at whoever tugged on your leash. even if it was just your always drunk owner, you hated him, even the good bits. he unhooks you and pulls you inside. man! you thought, then squiggled and squirmed, finally getting free of his grip. "woohoo! I'm free—" you bark as he grabs hold of your collar again. "I'm not free." he bark as he pulls you inside the house, and sits you down on your nasty, uncared for bed. you look back the door, seeing the newly placed doggie door swinging open because of the wind. yes! you start to run towards the door but someone steps in front of you. just one of your little owners. "move out of my way, rat!" you barked, and keep barking until they move out of your way. you dart out of the door, listening to 'daddy! puppy got away!' but you keep running, ignoring the starting car behind you. looking back, you see the car catching up to you and you twist around and run towards the alley way, this was why you didn't leave in the first place. your owner turned the car around and parked right in front of the alley way, then got out with a fishing net. not the net. you run past him, turning to the left and running further down the road.
finally, you've gotten away reform them, they wouldn't find you here, in the alleyway you call yours for the night. they have vine up, which was typical for owners, they can't do squat.
you have wondered the streets, and there was no sign of the dogs you want to be like. you walk past the junkyard and hear a, crash, bang, and a playful whine. "yes!" you bark, then enter the tunnel, leading into the junkyard.
