close to her, but it can turn out to be worth it if you do it
correctly. she tends to fall for the wrong people, and admits her
feelings long before she really should. most of the time, this
ends up being her downfall, and as much as she'd like to try and
convince you that it's no big deal, it might as well be literally
eating away at her insides. not confiding in people is what she
seems to resort to once she's been hurt enough.

Being the youngest brother in a family is hard, especially when
you're born into a fourth generation nutty-about-surviving the-
apocalypse family, then gifted with migraines and a chronic
cough. You grow up feeling like a bit of a disappointment,
actually. Even more especially if you turn to an artistic
career. But being born the youngest brother also meant that
Benja never cared about what they thought. He left his
family and their lifestyle behind, left the combat training,
the constant week-long trips into the wilderness, the
competitions and tests. He missed his family between the
short visits, but in those few years before this day, he was happy.

Obviously, that had to change. And, also obviously, it couldn't
be just a death in the family or a trip to the ER. No, it had to
be a zombie apocalypse. At least the horseback riding lessons
and outdoor survival 101 finally came in handy, rather than
simply reminding how paranoid - and reasonable, in hindsight -
his family is. Or maybe was. He's pretty sure they're still
living and breathing.

But now, he's fallen asleep on the ground and woken up on a
bed. In a strange room. In a stranger Inn, with strange people
and no evidence of zombies. He's going to have to learn how
to be a people person if he's going to live happily in this place...

His wardrobe has always been admittedly
mismatched. Layers are key, and he rescued this
black oil-skin jacket from a box of old stuff, and
he's since hailed it as a godsend. He has a pair of
good boots, for good days, and on bad days he
wears the bad boots. They have holes.

Thanks to his family's annual care packages (which,
sadly, had nothing to do with mom's cooking), when
the zombies came knocking, he was better
prepared than most. He had food, water, and
medicine supplies; basic survive-on-your-own
tools like an axe, a trowel, and weapons;
cooking things, and plenty of extra supplies.
He's great with a bow, can kill with a knife,
and if he finds a gun, he knows how to use it.

{history} moved from a small town just outside seville - but 'moved' is the wrong word. 'escaped' or 'ran away from' would be best. running from a whole lot of things: debt, an unhappy marriage, overbearing catholic parents. settled in brookmount and became apprentice to a mechanic there. she discovered her passion for bringing life back to broken things, fixing things, but still felt restless and never managed to put roots down anywhere. when the mass exodus began in brookmount, and meche felt the battering, howling wind which signaled the arrival of a tornado to the city... she didn't want to run. she joined up with a group of other similarly-minded individuals instead, chased that damn thing around for a while. found that this is what she was made for - chasing thrills and never slowing down.

but... that's not where she is anymore. she fell asleep after celebrating third place a bit too hard and woke up somewhere infinitely more comfortable and surprisingly not hungover at all. no brookmount, no garage, no tornadoes to chase. unsurprisingly, she'd like an explanation.
