    ────────────────── THE EXPLORER // EXPLORING OFFICER ────

      how/why he joined the resistance: i didn't have room in my form for this and i figured it could be p important for relations. basically, once he joined the military and started climbing the ranks he had the ability to travel/see more, and being as adventurous as he is he took full advantage of this. at first he really only visited rich, wealthy places but as his desire to travel around grew, his perspective changed a lot. as an exploring officer, he is usually tasked with scoping out the enemy and he probably initially realized how much the lower-class struggles during a mission where he had to locate someone finding in a poorer part of kyoto. since then he's been educating himself, which eventually led to him joining the resistance and acting as their informant within the government.

      aika + yuzuki i put them together because i can totally imagine multiple scenarios where he has to confront them both and they are legit polar opposites omgg. they're like this scary/somewhat intriguing duo to him because he's been very sheltered up until he discovered the resistance and i imagine he's never met a girl who's as headstrong as these two. even as a part of the resistance i can see him still being really gentlemanly and stuff so he treats both of them like he would first-class ladies, yknow?? so there will be many misunderstandings and whatnot which is always gr8. and he knows very well that he should probably not bother them but he'll do it anyway because logic

      seperately, however, he's going to view aika as a smoll child and probably try and act like a dependable big brother despite what she says, especially once they get to know each other better.

      i can see a bit of permanent tension between him and yuzuki, perhaps because of her disdain towards the first class. i can totally see both of them getting accidently rly drunk at tetsuo's bar and spilling their darkest secrets like old friends and then the next day they're bickering again.

      tetsuo neutral sounds good to me! that makes a lot of sense, i can see tadashi feeling the same way towards him. he'll probably make the natural assumption that he's some rough and tough bar owner, but the more he visits the bar to discuss resistance matters, the more he'll realize he's wrong. tadashi likes telling stories of the places he's been so i'm sure he'd just ramble on about the beauty of some mountain to tetsuo loool

      rose rose is precious how could anybody not like her omgomgomg. i can see him admiring her motherly tendencies but overall they would stay pretty neutral? i think he would feel especially bad that someone as lovely as her has been through so much so he might just remain very polite out of some sort of guilt but also respect ?? does this even make sense skiedwhbwe

      itsuki idk what you have planned so feel free to change this!! this is just a suggestion. c: i can really see itsuki being tadashi's go-to guy when it comes to the resistance. since most of the resistance members might be a lil' wary of tadashi, he'll probably get more of his needed information from itsuki, and in exchange tadashi uses his connections in the military to try get the train more stops/privileges?? i think they'd just be p chill with each other and have some sort of mutual understanding lol

      manami manami must be protected at all costs !!1!11!!!! maybe manami is the one who kinda introduced tadashi to the resistance? maybe he saw one of her shows while out and about on his little journeys. perhaps he became more of a regular and eventually the two got to talking and it somehow led to him joining forces with her. idk how exactly, but we can figure it out later. because of this, though, i can see manami being his grounding point when it comes to him and his loyalty issues. if it didn't mean leaving her behind, he would have run off from the resistance a long time ago. he'd never ever admit that out loud tho

      sousuke ahhhh he's a cool lookin' guy but tadashi and him won't mix. his stubbornness would most likely make it hard to see past tadashi's higher class, and tadashi's pride will kick in and he'll become hella defensive about it. eventually, tadashi would probably quit trying to prove himself to sousuke and they'll just end up bitter enemies who have to work together on occasion for the greater good. 8)

      eiko ok ok i have a lot of ideas for them ngl. i can't decide if they would have a love/hate or annoyed siblings relationship or something like that. either way, maybe they've known each other for a long time ( like they went to a fancy primary school together or something idk ). tadashi's deff admired her talent since as long as he could remember. he's probably called on eiko on multiple occasions and begged her to fly him places because he kept failing his test or something like that lmao. he knows he's probably a big thorn in her side so he promises to pay her or offers a favor in return but never actually keeps his word lol oops

      akichi did you have an idea for them ?? i think tadashi would feel instinctively competitive with akichi, but i haven't thought of much up past that.

      ichigo dude idek i've written so much already i'm out of ideas ;-;

      momo her form isn't done so idk yet. cx

    @aurie
    could you expand on what you mean by that? :>
    i was actually pondering on this idea, but akichi,
    a v fickle guy constantly changing his likes & dislikes, could possibly be a fan of tadashi's
    since the guy gets all fiery when it comes to topics of interest,
    cause wow a whole new world, a new fantastic pov *sparkly eyes*
    he'd be infatuated with hearing about stories tadashi has to offer.

    @crasher
    no, yoo, your coDing is helLa pretty ?? ? ??
    momo's such a sweetie,
    akichi probably teased her once, had no idea how to make her stop crying
    and just never picked on her again cause like how to stop waterfall? ?
    he doesn't knoW
    but like wow apothecary, he def wants to know more about that

      ━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

      a little bit of backstory for yuzu child
      yuzuki grew up in a pretty underprivileged part of kyoto - her family was basically dirt poor, and her parents often struggled to come up with enough money to pay rent and put food on the table. even then, most other families there were not as fortunate as her and were forced to turn to other methods in order to survive - be it scavenging, begging, selling themselves - anything. her father worked high-risk, hard labour jobs while her mother took in whatever odd jobs she could handle; yuzuki never went to school and was illiterate for the majority of her teenage years. having tinkered with junk parts since she was a kid (obviously, she didn't have any real toys, so she had to make do with scrap metal), yuzu desperately tried to find a job as a mechanic or something, and was very, very luckily apprenticed by the very same engineering service that she is employed by today. there, she learned how to read and write bc some of her jobs required it, and she's slowly getting better day by day. she joined the resistance to change the wealth disparity between the upper and lower classes; every single cent of her extra money goes to her parents to help get them out of the slums.

      aika - yO I'LL TAKE YOU UP ON YOUR BEST FRIENDS OFFER !!! i can totally see the two of them just helping each other out, even with the smallest things. need some spare parts for new weapons? nah i gotchu man take some of mine. you feeling down and need to relax? let's go screw around at tetsu's bar, dw the tab's on me. some dude bothering you and won't go away? hold my flower bb watch me put a wrench through his face

      tetsuo - probably calls him gramps, screws around at his bar a lot when she's bored and gets him to mix really complicated drinks for her while eating all of his free peanuts lmao. she's really close to her own parents but doesn't get the chance to see them a lot bc she/they always have to work; while tetsuo's steadfast presence is always welcoming, he also kind of makes her miss her own family.

      rose - i can see yuzu getting panicked with rose for being too friendly with unsavoury characters on the street. quite frankly, yuzuki is surprised that rose can still be so open and accepting to everybody even though despite living in poverty like she has. whenever she listens to rose's stories of the strangers she helped that day she gets all annoyed and flustered like "omG ROSE i can't even believe you gave the time of day to a sleazy guy like that... if i were you i would've taken a screwdriver to his face and left his teeth all over the pavement..."

      tadashi - !!!! all my yes for being buddies at the bar !!!! headcanon that tadashi was the first remotely wealthy guy that yuzuki ever saw and she has a slight grudge against him bc holy she's jealous of his lifestyle (and it doesn't help that he's famous). would probably mostly reply to his questions in grunts or sassy answers. (another headcanon that either he and eiko once taught her how to read/make a map, and she almost cried bc she'd never felt more educated or accomplished)

      akichi - neutral sounds good! i'd say she sticks around him just so she can do maintenance on his airship bc it's super high quality/new model/only for upper class people (!!!) and she never gets the chance to look at, let alone touch a machine of that quality. he doesn't seem like the guy who'd flaunt his wealth, but i'd say yuzu still gets a little bit judgemental about his carefree attitude and mistake it for lack of responsibility.

      eiko - i think if yuzuki ever got the chance to do something more with her life, she'd try and become an airship pilot, just like eiko. it's hard for her, as a strictly lower class citizen, to be faced with someone who has basically everything she'd ever dreamed of having. her feelings towards eiko are a mix of admiration, bitterness and deep, deep jealousy. she wants to learn about the things that eiko's done, but has too much pride to ask. this kind of applies to all the upper class characters, but i think it's sometimes hard for yuzu to accept the fact that they're all fighting for the same cause, just bc she doesn't see how equalizing the lower/upper classes has any benefit towards them; it's difficult for her to admit that there may actually be purely selfless people who are sympathetic with the lower class among those who have made her life miserable since the very beginning.

      itsuki - yeah, i can see them as acquaintances. yuzuki probably comes over to do maintenance on his train a lot (it's obviously not as functional as the upper class trains so i'd imagine it has a lot of problems still probably better than my city's public transit tho???) and she'd probably just make small talk with him and scold him for not taking better care of it. they probably wouldn't be super close friends, but yuzu would definitely still look out for him if he ever needed help.

      sousuke - sousuke gives off a pretty intimidating/cold feel, but i don't think that would stop yuzu from picking on him from time to time like she does with tetsuo. she's honestly not surprised at what he does in order to make a living, and definitely think worse of him bc of it. since he's definitely not the sociable "let me introduce myself to you!!!" type, i would put yuzu and sousuke at a tentative neutral - she doesn't really have an opinion about him, but at times she kind of doubts his motives for joining the resistance (e.g. she's kind of wary that he might flake out during an important manoeuvre if things aren't looking good for them)

      manami - i think yuzu would have a lot of respect (???)/sympathy for manami. she's not that much younger than yuzu, but has definitely had to go through more hardships than yuzuki could ever think of going through at that age. i think yuzuki would be a little awkward in person around manami (at the present moment, they don't have too much in common), but would show her support through little things, like stopping by at her spot in the faire whenever she can make it, and sticking around until the end to tell her that she played wonderfully/looked really pretty.

      momo - yuzu tends to call it like it is, and would probably be a really bad conversation partner for momo - her words can be a little bit abrasive/harsh at times and sugar-coating doesn't come easily for her, so i feel like she may have accidentally driven momo to tears at one point in time. i don't think yuzuki would have it in her to actually dislike momo, but i don't think they'd be very good friends. still, i bet the apothecary is a p chill place to hang out, and would be a welcome change from the grimy, industrial setting of yuzuki's workplace.

      ichigo - first thought: yo, ichigo must be a damn good thief if he supported himself for 6 years on stolen items alone. again, yuzuki's no stranger to thievery (you gotta do what you gotta do), but i don't think would've been close outside of the resistance just bc engineers tend not to be robbed (scrap metal isn't going to buy you a hot meal) and yuzuki's probably shabby enough to the point where thieves wouldn't see the point in mugging her. anyway, yuzuki's recommendation for ichigo would be to try and make use of his skills to get a real job bc thieving isn't exactly the most sustainable lifestyle, and getting caught would more or less put his life on the line.

      loool this post is massive, kudos and big hugs to everybody who actually manages to sift through this word vomit ;v;
      feel free to add to/change/comment on any of these if you'd like!!

        story time! itsuki's childhood and why he joined up: like most of
        the cast and crew, itsuki grew up in one of the really not v pretty
        parts of kyoto. when he was younger he lived with both his 'rents
        in the slums, but at age seven his mother passed due to an illness
        that his family couldn't afford to treat properly. his father wasn't
        able to take care of him after this; funeral costs, enormous piled up debt from trying to get medicine, and the sad fact that his pa could hardly hold onto a job for longer than a month tops added up to a seven year old itsuki being sent to live his aunt, the sister of his father. his aunt lived in a slightly better part of a different district, and her job as a teacher for one of the district's short of being about to shut down schools meant that on the nights when she wasn't totally exhausted, she would teach him some basic academics. it was rare and definitely not fancy, but he can do simple math (adding/subtracting) and can read but not write. he spent a lot of his childhood playing with neighborhood kids outside in the streets and distracting himself from his life by investing himself in the life of whoever he played with. unfortunately this really just opened his eyes to how troubled everyone can be, and he grew up believing the world to be a truly ugly place. he became the train operator at age 22 bc he was "apprenticed" by the old one in his teen years due to his aunt being excellent friends with them, and was pretty much already running the tracks by the time the former operator officially retired. itsuki originally joined the rebellion a year later to get rid of the feeling of helplessness and powerlessness that he had been struggling with all his life, but soon after was in it to really help the people and truly start to make the world a better place for everyone.

        HUGE EXPOSITION DUMP OVER! woot! onto relations!

        {aika - (friend & total bro) they probably avoided/were wary of each other at first, aika like you said because she found his evasiveness in conversation to be a bit shifty and itsuki because he wasn't quite sure how to handle all her spunk. but after they both jumped in to punch a guy for manami or something they did like the silent nod thing and were suddenly like "ilu you and you are the best let's be friends." i love the idea of them being super bro-y with each other too! they do their lame   super cool and unique secret handshake whenever she takes the train, and itsuki's all like "yo yo, aika my girl! how've you been? what's it like at the shop today, eh?" and will talk to her until people start yelling for the train to get moving because they have places to be. when he isn't hanging out at tetsuo's bar in his free time he probably goes to her workshop just to hang out and be childish. whenever a customer gets out of line he just sits back and watches aika do her thing while providing mildly witty commentary. (he will later claim that he was totally being moral support and that absolutely counts dude)

        {momo - (friends?) oh no oh dear oh crap how to get this girl to stop crying quick do something stupid and/or funny. itsuki would not know how to deal with an emotional timebomb on a regular basis, but would extend a helping hand whenever momo needs one. he's be a-okay to just sit and listen and rub her back soothingly while she cries one out, probably telling her funny stories or acting a bit silly to cheer her up. however, it pains him a bit to see someone so young and bright fighting in the resistance, and he probably avoids her a bit because he doesn't want to get too close to her since he feels kind of bad, although he wouldn't ever say it to her. he also would probably feel like he'd have to walk on eggshells when engaging in conversation with her, which he can do just fine, but it would be too exhausting for him to do v often. overall they're on great terms with each other but don't actually talk together all that much, although itsuki will always invite her to tell him her woes if he can tell she's upset. he'll low-key try to ruin the day of anyone who messes with her.

        {tetsuo - (friends/romantic interest?) huge heart eyes for this guy. giant. it's surprising he doesn't have heart icons floating above his head. the fact that he doesn't is probably mostly due to the fact that all his flirting is super subtle. he'll joke about how the two of them are the parents of the group since they're the oldest, casually invite the guy to come with him to places like he would his other friends (but also completely not like his other friends), and help out at his bar sometimes even after he's tired from work just to talk to mr. grumpy gus. hangs out at tetsuo's bar whenever he can like some sort of stray cat. originally was interested in him because of his grouchiness but accidentally kinda fell hard for him after seeing his soft side. aside from romantic interest though! tetsuo and itsuki deal with the most amounts of people on a day-to-day basis, so maybe they talk about random things they've seen throughout the week? tetsuo talks about how he had to break up a total of like four bar fights last night while itsuki complains about a couple who was passionately making out for like five minutes straight before one of them finally boarded the train. i think that they'd have that sort of close relationship where they can just relax around each other and swap interesting stories from their jobs. after knowing him for a bit itsuki kind of learned to completely ignore tetsuo's intimidation, which i guess he'd be sort of grateful for but also annoyed at, maybe? tetsuo is also the one person he'd feel comfortable confiding in. in summary they're probably pretty close and feel protective/worry over the rest of their friends together. the romance doesn't have to be reciprocated, but itsuki will still have a massive crush bc he's hopeless haha.

        {akichi - (friends?) so you don't have much for them but i agree that they're just like ultra coolio dudes who are chill with one another. itsuki doesn't mind his pranks at all and will typically play along with akichi's messing around with him, usually by pretending to complain to him about whatever it is akichi pulled on him. "akichi-kun, what did i ever do to you? T_T why must you be so cruel to me </3." but again, really they're mega chill, and they're both alright with the fact that they hardly ever discuss anything serious and are both skilled in dodging conversations when they want to. although honestly if they're both at aika's shop at the same time, itsuki ain't lifting a finger to help him when the weapons mechanic sets her sights on him; he typically enjoys the show while vocally rooting for one of them as aika chases the poor man. basically the basis of their friendship is that they're cool with not forcing each other into serious convos and instead being little children.

        {yuzuki - (friends?) i imagine that these two obviously knew each other before rebellion business, since yuzu would be called in to fix itsuki's train. it's not like he can afford to hire the city's best prestigious and expensive   steam engineers, so they've known each other for a while. maybe while they were both in their apprentice stages? anyway, yuzuki probably taught him some useful tips for basic maintenance, which he greatly appreciates. tbh if they didn't meet outside of the resistance, i don't think they would have really befriended each other, but they've most likely spent some time getting to know each other over the years. itsuki shares her worries about how optimistic some of the resistance members can be towards others, because his view on the world is pretty negative, but while they agree about how awful everything can be, he doesn't quite share her resentment of the upper class. their bond is mostly just because of all the time they've spent together, and since they share pretty similar views in a lot of aspects, they sort of have each other's backs, even though they don't seek one another out for conversation. itsuki greatly, greatly respects her trying to do her best to support her parents.

        {tadashi - (chill friend) yeeesssss the mutual understanding route was what i was gonna go for! out of the three upper class members, tadashi is probably the one that itsuki genuinely gets along with the most. he enjoys listening to his stories a lot and finds them fascinating. whenever tadashi is talking about a journey of his to tetsuo at the bar, itsuki will suddenly pop out of nowhere and latch himself onto tetsuo as he eagerly listens to tadashi talk, as if he had been there wide-eyed and clinging to the bar owner while tadashi spoke the whole time. aside from his interest in the man's explorations, though, he totally isn't bothered by the exploring officer's short attention span and is cool with just telling him what he needs to know, exchanging info for a bit, maybe offering some food if he has any on hand. itsuki doesn't bear any immediate resentment for the upper class besides some extremely deeply bottled up bitterness, so he wouldn't be as wary as mostly everyone else and at their first meeting was probably like "'sup, welcome to the team man." however, if tadashi ever gets him more privileges for the train/supports construction for stops in other areas itsuki would probs tear up a bit and give tadashi a super serious thank you.

        {rose - (neutral?) itsuki appreciates rose - he really, really does. she's trying her best to make kyoto a better place for everyone to live, and as someone who lost a parent at an early age and has barely seen the other since, her motherly aura and attitude towards helping little kids really makes him like her a lot. but, they probably aren't really close in any way, because itsuki is content to just leave her alone and let her do her thing. they also have pretty opposing viewpoints; rose is a glass half full kind of gal, and itsuki is really a glass half empty kind of guy. he sympathizes with all she's been through, but like yuzuki, he sometimes fails to comprehend how she can remain so positive. it secretly irks him a tiny bit, but he would never give anyone grief over it, and he respects her too much to let it show. he'd hate fighting with her, but they probably do occasionally argue due to their conflicting ideologies. itsuki usually backs down or changes the topic bc seriously he hates fighting and is a wimp.

        {manami - (friends?) she's so cute itsuki loved her immedietely. aika and he unofficially make up nami's protection squad, and he is proud to say he'll totally punch anyone who insults her without even a little bit of shame. lowkey will mess up anyone who dares to mock her in subtle but effective ways, i.e. tripping them so that they fall face-first into mud or grabbing their hat and throwing it to a bunch of street kids to play catch with as he sneaks away. but, like with momo, he feels terrible that someone so young feels the need to take up their cause. he respects them both for it but it makes him a little sad. however, he absolutely loves her singing and finds her musical talent with a shamisen enchanting. itsuki doesn't have a lot of time off from operating the underground train, and tetsuo's bar or aika's workshop are usually closer when he's done, but on the rare occasions where he can go to her performances he always finds that his day ends on a high note. probably a sort of brother/sister relationship where itsuki is protective but lets her usually handle her own and affectionately teases her.

        {sousuke - (enemies?) cannot stand this guy. itsuki tries to play it cool around sousuke, but the man's attitude of blatantly putting himself before others really rubs him wrong. the red-head understands self-preservation, but this guy is clearly greedy and as far as itsuki is concerned, has no moral code. plus he kills people for a living, and itsuki is not okay with capping anyone just for the sake of money, upper class or not. he understands the struggle for money all too well given what happened to his mother, but taking away life for selfish reasons does not sit right with him. their relationship is tense at best, but itsuki tries not to start anything for everyone else's sake and sousuke probably just doesn't care. itsuki can appreciate what he brings to the table but can't see them getting along.

        {eiko - (enemies/neutral?) honestly, itsuki doesn't dislike eiko herself - she's a bit headstrong and serious, but her drive is impressive and her passion is inspiring. it's more than her rank and her presence make itsuki feel v inferior, and it's not a feeling he has often or handles well. she's a perfectionist who's trained since forever to be an amazing aerial captain of her own airship, while itsuki is just a street rat who is grateful to have gotten his job as the rundown underground train operator because he was lucky enough to have the right connections. he loves clouds and the sky, and eiko gets to be way up high for her job while he's stuck way down below. itsuki has always appreciated his job and learned to completely adore his unpolished hunk of metal and all the crowded underground stops, as well as interacting with all the people who board, but eiko somehow makes him feel ashamed of all of that. he mostly tries to avoid her because he feels she's better than him in pretty much every way, and it makes him super uncomfortable, but he always hides it as best as he can since he hates starting issues. essentially her upper class upbringing really shows in a lot of things she does and it makes itsuki believe he's inadequate in comparison.

        {ichigo - (neutral?) alright so their first meeting was totally years ago when ichigo was trying to pickpocket at one of the busier stops during a really crowded time of day. itsuki miraculously saw him and was all like "tHIEF gEt OVeR HERE" and started chasing him wildly. of course, he never caught the slippery devil and gave up after ichigo lost him pretty quickly. when they meet at the resistance years later itsuki totally had a moment of "it's you!" nowadays, he could never ever find it in himself to hate this guy, but the fact is, he can't agree with ichigo's life of thieving. the people of kyoto struggle enough on their own without people like ichigo taking from their meager earnings, and itsuki would never give the man grief about it because he can tell that he feels remorse and guilt for his actions, but bottom line is that ichigo is still taking from people who definitely don't have enough to give. itsuki empathizes a lot with the struggles of money, and is still willingly open to friendly conversation with ichigo, but would prevent himself from really getting close to him since he can't fully accept his actions.

      i've finished my relations chart as well!! sorry it's actually a pain in the
      ass to read bc there are so many words/it's so unorganized lol ;v;

      @ shiki - lol just out of pure curiosity, what happens if one of our characters
      gets caught by the military when they're on a raid??? would we have to do a
      prison break bc that would be... super rad...
      also, you mentioned that our
      characters are free to collect/store things for the resistance when there's
      nothing big-scale happening - do they just store their items in any of the safe
      houses, or is there like a stronghold where all the stuff is kept so it can be
      accessed all at once if anybody has need of it?

      oh, and just a heads up - i'm going to be leaving for hk and japan on saturday
      and won't be back until the end of the first week of september!!! i'll definitely
      still be around stalking the rp thread/this discussion, but my posting is probably
      going to be a little more infrequent until i get back.

        i love everything that's been posted for aika!! ;u;
        i'll stop being lazy and post some kind of updated relation thing for her
        soon hopefully lol

        @celestia- yO that's a rly good idea omg, i've been thinking about how
        to start this off and a prison break would be hella cool??? like that would
        be a super action-packed way of kicking things off and there would be a
        group that's in prison and another group going to save them (since it doesn't
        make logical sense for eleven people to go save one person lmao). a problem
        i'm seeing rn though is that it'll probs be pretty boring for the ppl in prison
        bc there's only so much you can write abt a character sitting in a jail cell???
        HM. WHAT DO YALL THINK. HELP.
        (and if anybody has other ideas for ways to start throw them out there!!)

        and i think it depends on what the person wants to do? they can just store
        stuff inside their workplaces/houses so that there's like a stash at most of
        their meeting places, but they could also ship the supplies they're collecting
        to the places where the main forces/leaders or the resistance are (the places
        being bigger cities such as tokyo or yokohama). the latter is more risky ofc

      @aurie
      but tbh akichi is also jealous of him ?? since he - essentially - gets so much freedom out of his career choice
      and gets to see much of the world that aki (more than the average especially) hasn't. they're like two peas in a pod.
      it'd be v fun to see them settle this "difference" later on if any opportunity allows it.

      dUDE(s) a jailbreak sounds so fun, but like you mentioned, that one con.
      what if we start immediately with an emergency or smth? likee they're in the middle of a mission or a raid but
      something's gone wrong and they're on the verge of being caught ? ?? that was just an idea that can be expanded upon, though.
      i can def see aki laughing away the whole time, having le tiME oF hiS liFE while being chased gghHh
