[ A sigh escaped from him as he wondered if anything 'exciting' would happen today in Troy. Be careful what you wish for~ My brain is running full capacity. ;3 ]

The formerly blonde corpse was only smoldering, all flesh and clothing gone, leaving nothing remaining but bones. The latest undead to show up wore some sort of once-brightly-colored shirt and a pair of those shorts that make the swishy sound when you walk. Lou watched him stumble, hindered by the broken in half surfboard still attached to his ankle. The other was probably also male and wore a red Izod polo shirt and khaki shorts that were stained with blood and other things one would rather not identify. She frowned as she sighted in on the closest one. Normally there were more. She'd had more than thirty show up one day. They were constantly migrating, searching for prey. Humans. She grunted, she should really limit herself to two philosophical thoughts a day.

Her first shot went high and embedded itself in an oak tree that was riddled with holes from previous misses. (Poor tree, what'd it ever do to anybody?) She started to move the scope's reticule away from the woods and back to her new targets. Something caught her eye. Metallic with a blue sheen, not a color that belonged in a forest. She turned the dial and the world turned fuzzy before focusing in again. (Gone.) She looked up and stared with naked eyes at the treeline, trying to catch the color again. (Completely, utterly gone.) She returned her attention back to her job, squeezing off two efficient killing rounds in a practiced, nearly robotic way. The zombies swooned and slumped over like a boomer with a heart attack at a Bon Jovi concert.

Lougenia was sweating like Louis Armstrong at rave. Why had the color unnerved her? Why was it familiar? She safetied the gun once more and set it down. Grabbing her gas can once more, she listening to the light swish of the almost empty container. The light of the setting sun caught it perfectly. It finally dawned.
(Gun barrel.)

Arsen sat alone in a corner. It was nothing new. The only person to show up so far had been Carrie, whom he was afraid of in part because of the Stephen King book. And the fact he'd watched her plunge that badass looking knife through a zombie's ear and come out the other side. He still had nightmares. He stared at his watch for a few blank moments. 17 hundred and 26 hours. An hour and nearly thirty minutes. People apparently did not own watches in Troy. He was still surprised no one had showed yet. Normally this was the only meeting they attended. This was the one where they decided where they were going when the snow fell. What they had in stock. What they needed. What they wanted.

This one was always the most hectic. No doubt in his mind.

People were getting what his mother had called "cabin fever." The were bored, restless. Ready to shoot someone in the head if they didn't get to leave with one of the groups. There would be two this year. Five on each. They had to be organized, like it or not. Who knew what they would encounter out there? Ferals, both animal and human, that would rip you to shreds in seconds. Dumbasses who thought they were the king who decided to take potshots at you from the roof of the A&P with a .44 Magnum. (As to king of what, no one would ever know.) What if this winter wasn't cold enough to freeze the dead? What then?

Lucie glanced out the window of her house-on-stilts, looking down at Troy. She ran a hand through the hair, taking a few steps back away from the window. Turning, she headed into the small room that she used as a kitchen, opening a cupboard at random. Sifting through the items inside, she pulled a tin of soup out, slamming it shut behind her. Dropping it onto the counter, she made her way outside, pushing her hands deep into the pockets of her trench coat. Pulling the door to a close after her, she stood with her back against it, dipping her head. Hearing gunshots, she looked up quickly, scanning the walls surrounding the city.

Thomas and Ashley

Ashley grumbed as she walked behind her brother who was leading her by the hand. Towards the city hall was where they were heading wanting to see if maybe just maybe they could join a group. As they walked into the hall Ashley looked around with a mean harsh glare plastered on her face. She wanted them all to know about how she felt about having to be part of this. Thomas elbowed her lightly, maybe she would enjoy getting out of here. Fresh air could do them good. Plus he knew that she had a small love for killing zombies.
Thomas nodded at Arsen in greeting he had seen the guy around, always the one planning these meetings. He did seem like a leader. He envied him Thomas was always more of a follower. He sat down on one of the metalic folding chairs in the hall near the front but not to close seeing as not many, well actually none were here.
Ashley put away the harsh glare on her face and sort of blushed. Embarrased that she was getting angry when nobody was here. Insolent she was. She pulled up a chair next to her brother and looked up at Arsen, what did he have to say today.

[ ... Dasarith, you do realize Arsen is deaf and hasn't spoken a word in his life, and is therefore not going to say anything, right? ]

Arsen appeared to notice the two had entered, but still kept his gaze down and focused on the notebook on his lap. He slid a pen out of the rings and put a line through both Thomas and his sister's names. Keeping track of people was pretty much all he was good for. There were still many names that had no slashes across them. Though he didn't know every single person's name. Some people who simply ignored or laughed at him had nicknames. (The most comical of which was "Porn Star / Cop 'Stache Dude".) Carrie's interest was no longer in her fingernails (which were expertly trimmed with a few swipes of a knife), and turned towards the two new additions to their less-than-quorum attendance.

She sat backwards in a chair, legs split around the back as she rested her head on her arms. Her shirt appeared to be all black at first (with a strange stain on the mid- to upper-back), but it had barely legible lettering on it.
Guns don't kill people, gaping holes in vital organs do.
Her curiosity had been piqued, as the younger ones usually just stayed behind. Not like they had the addictions of the elder to cater to. But then again, she went. But that was just because she was sure she would be the only one with enough balls to shoot somebody if they were bitten. Hell, a random zombie who was wearing warm clothes when they died probably wouldn't freeze if their garments were intact. She attempted to disguise her bitter smile with faked concern. "You actually planning on going out there?" she asked as she watched them, as though she expected them to draw a firearm and shoot her at any moment. You couldn't trust anyone. Not in that kind of world.

Lougenia still stared towards the woods, her heartbeat finally calming down. It had to have just been her imagination, or something had crossed in front of the scope. She readjusted her ponytail and tightened it one more loop. She flinched and grabbed a tighter hold on her grip. Someone was watching her. If only she took the time to look over her shoulder and see Lucie below, about 50 yards away. She adjusted the brightness on her lit reticule to the "OFF" position and looked again. Maybe it was just the glow. Just her imagination. (If only.)

Lucie turned her attention to the sound of a door opening and closing. She looked up, then snapped her fingers, hurrying forwards a few steps. She ran her fingers through her hair, and then pushed the retractable ladder down to the soil-and-grass combination below, climbing down the lopsided wooden contraption unsteadily. When she reached the ground, she gave it a firm push back the way it had came, smiling in satisfaction as it reached its original post. Glancing in both direction, Lucie tutted, heading towards two girls kicking stones, "Rin, Sakura, hurry, a meeting in the hall!" She beckoned them and then turned back, setting off at a brisk trot towards the building.

Rin sighed heavily, shooting a look at her sister. She shrugged, then turned to follow Lucie into the town hall, pausing for a moment to look around as she entered. She tapped one of her army boots on the carpet beside the door, a sign of her discomfort.

( Stupid. Parent. Will finish when I get back. )

Thomas and Ashley

Ashley looked up at the girl with a harsh glare, Carrie she thought her name was. "Yea we actually do plan on going out there, have a problem with that?" She almost yelled out she didn't like that this girl had underestimated her so easily. Thomas looked at his sister with worry and put his hand on her shoulder, which usually calmed her down. Ashley turned towards Thomas glare still on her face but then it quickly went away seeing his worry. She looked away with a huff before casually pushing his hand away from her shoulder.
Thomas looked at Carrie with an embarrased smile plastered on his face, "Sorry she has a bit of an angerment issue." He looked away and rubbed the back of his head unsure of what to say now. He felt the blush rising up to his cheeks, ashamed of his feelings of his awkwardness, why couldn't he be brave and say something. If only he knew more about life and its harshness.
((sorry didn't know he was^^;))
