She walked besides Cloverwing and sniffed the air.
"Hm...smells like..." she sniffed again, "It's definitely not a cat..."
She looked at Hawkfeather, to see what he smells.

Stormpaw's tail swished happily as he bounded downthe slope and peered curiously and a bit cautiously into the river.

He padded over to the river. "i'm not so good at fishing... maybe you could tell or show me some tips?" greypaw shuffled his paws, feeling embarrassed. He looked back up and sat down, wrapping his grey bushy tail around his paws and looking down at the water.

He leaned over and then licked Fiercestrike's cheek back, revealing his affection towards the she-cat. He wondered why she was acting a bit odd today and shrugged. It was pretty early, maybe she was just exhausted. He listened to what Cloverwing said and tensed. Hawkfeather felt like danger was near, but he wasn't quite sure. The tom fought the urge to unsheate his claws and instead scented the air. "i-it's fox!"

She purred when he licked her cheek and felt relieved. She smiled at him, feeling more awake.
"A fox?"

The moment of happiness was now over. He froze to the spot and his fur bristled. Hawkfeather was going to protect Fiercestrike to his last breath. "yes, yes.... a fox. At least... that's what I smell. Do you smell it too?" he asked, not really in the mood to jump to conclusions.

She flinched, "I...I think so. It's...close. Close enough to be---"
Then that's when she saw it. Two eyes in between the trees, staring at them. Was it going to pounce? Was it going to run off?
"Hawkfeather...it's here."

He growled and stood in front of Fiercestrike, trying to protect her. "should we run or fight?" he asked, his voice sounding cold.

"I know we shouldn't be the one to start the fight. If it fights, we fight. But if it doesn't...I suggest we surrender slowly."
She walked out from behind and stood besides Hawkfeather.

He tensed. "if we do run away... it might follow us. We cannot risk that. We must fight." he declared.
