∴History∴ Markus had a pretty normal life up until now. He grew up with a sister and two parents, went o school, got good grades. He want to college to get a bachelors in Biology. For his 20th birthday, his family surprised him with a cruise. Unfortunately,fortunately there was only enough money and pace for him to go alone. He was very happy and enjoyed the cruise a lot until the ship sunk.

"Well, this is perfect," Natalie grinned, feeling a bit giddy at the sight of Ariani's belongings, though waterlogged. "It's like we have our own personal nurse among us." She pretended not to notice that Ryan tripped beside her and continued forwards silently. Her free hand lightly skimmed the small scratch stretching across her cheekbone at the mention of wounds, but other than that, she had been quite fortunate. So far, she had no serious damage. The rocks were just ahead at this point, and Natalie could already picture herself curling up against one of the far walls in the small cave.

Cole had woken to find everyone traveling down the beach, towards what looked to be a stretch of rocks. He groggily followed behind them, pinching the skin on the back of his hand as he walked to wake himself up. Once the group settled on the rocks, he stood up to grab their attention. "It has come to my attention that the waters aren't safe to travel yet. Until further notice, we are going to have to stay here and hope for the best." He stepped down, his eyes subconsciously finding their way to Mahogany as he spoke. When he couldn't find her in the crowd, he shook his head. She must have gone back into the forest alone. He found a small space hidden between two tall rocks, which shielded the wind, and sat down. This would have to safe enough for the night.

I rolled my eyes. Could've told him that up front, without hom hsving to talk to someone else. "Okay, anyone with any injuries come to me. I have some blankets in my suitcase, but we'll have to share them. Natalie, you start taking the blankets out while I treat Cole's hand. Cole, once I finish, help Natalie."

Sighing, I noticed she didn't give me any instructions. I sat down against a rock. I felt totally useless.

Cole lifted an eyebrow as Ariani started ordering him around. He climbed out of the hole he had found for himself and approached her silently, his eyes dark and cold. He simply waited for her to find the right medical supplies and focused on a spot in the ocean to stare at as his thoughts took over.

Natalie unzipped the soggy suitcase and was pleasantly surprised to find that the contents inside were relatively dry. She grabbed the stack of blankets and handed Ryan the first one. "Don't worry, Ryan. Your leg will heal soon and you can start helping out too. Just be patient." She gave him a reassuring smile, whatever it was worth, and passed out the blankets to the other survivors until she ran out. She strolled back over to the mouth of the small cave formed by the rocks and glanced inside, searching for any creatures that might be living inside. When she couldn't find anything, she crawled inside and leaned against one of the walls, drawing her knees to her chest.

Mahogany heard Cole's words from her rock, but chose to ignore them. If she tagged along, she would only decrease their chances of survival. True, she was the one that saved them, but now she would only hold them down and waste valuable supplies. She cringed and lowered her head, biting her lip. Tears started welling in her eyes. Her whole body quivered and she held her knees close to her chest. Her hair fell in her face, but she didn't bother to push it away. Why was she crying? This is what she wanted, isn't it? She wanted to get away from the past... To get away from the pain, she thought, still crying. The tears in her eyes became real, falling down her face. They were cold. Cruel and heartless. She felt them, from her eyes to her chin, all falling. They made her shirt a little wet, landing on it, and sometimes the rock, splashing away. If this is away from the pain... why do I feel like I'm dying?, she asked herself, body still shaking. She had no idea what was happening... Her eyes were red and hurt, and she looked up, tears still clinging to her eyelashes. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore. If she joined them now, she would still be a burden, she'd be judged, she'd still have the symtoms of crying, and they wouldn't like her. And if she stayed here? She'd cry and cry until her tears reached the river, feeling pain unbearable.

Walking over to Cole, I rummaged around in my kit. Luckily, I'd put everything in sealed plastic bags since we were on a cruise, so everything seemed intact. Taking out some bandages and disinfectant, I took Cole's hand. "I'm going to have to bind this fairly tightly. You won't be able to move it much, and we need to make sure it's in the right position."

I relaxed at her comments, her imput meaning more to me than it should. At least she didn't think I was useless. And she was right, trying to be helpful now would be pointless if it just made me less helpful in the future.
