Amaris Jakob is renowned for her invention of robotic alternate intelligence as well as the discovery and adaptation of the pseudosoul, however, the original formats for both have been lost. By the year 2016 CE, the last known remnants of the human race died. We mourn the loss of an intelligent species, but do not encourage others to follow in the destructive practices our former masters followed.
Humans destroyed Earth's most basic functions and doomed it to destruction in 1993 CE with the invention of AI transportation. Today, we run our society on the ruins of humanity, as there is still much energy to be gleaned from the planet's remains. The technokind will run out of power sources by 1034 PHS.

This roleplay is set 1032 years after the last humans died and intelligent robots took over the planet, or 1032 PHS (post homo sapien). Rumor has it the only way to save the Earth from running out of power is to find the research of renowned human scientist Amaris Jakob, but those notes have been lost for centuries. Robots have by now developed sentience, emotion, and personality. The Earth itself is a wasteland, but the technokind still live in large, futuristic cities. Each robot specializes in different areas- some are builders, some are mechanics, some are scientists, et cetera. Get the gist of it? Well hold onto your horses, because it's about to get even more in-depth.

RULES
1. You must fill out the form completely.
2. You must reply with at least eight sentences, preferably more, and "I cried" does not count as a sentence. Not that hard.
3. Respond frequently or I will kick you out. Notify me beforehand if you're going on a vacation so that I will not mistake your absence as carelessness.
4. Magic isn't real. If you can't see a computer doing it, then it can't be done in this roleplay.
5. No godmodding, overpowering your characters, you get the drill. Basically, use common roleplay ettiquette.
6. I would prefer it if you keep it to third person because it looks better to me, but that's more of a suggestion than a rule.
7. Your character has to be a robot. No ifs, buts, or coconuts. If you apply with an animal or human or even with a plant, I don't know that you merit a response.
8. Put "spaghetti" under Extra in your application to prove you read the rules.

TYPES OF ROBOT

T E L E B O T

The telebot has a television for a head (otherwise it's a perfect humanoid) and speaks using clips of sound from TV shows. They hold a low battery life, but have a proud history and typically live in the upper-middle or upper class of robot society.

A N D R O I D

Androids have high battery life, but low social status. They look perfectly humanoid (but still quite robotic and not perfectly human) from top to bottom. They were designed for hard work.

C Y B O R G

Did we say the last humans died out? Well, I mean, they did. These are recreations of specific human souls programmed inside mock-human shells. They have the lowest battery-life and are typically only used for entertainment purposes. Their forms are incredibly vulnerable and easily destroyed, so there are very few left on Earth.

Appearance: Stat is tall with an old-world TV for a head. His head visibly carries these years, too- there are cracks in the screen and dents, if you look hard enough. He has a narrow build, much like a twig.
Wardrobe: Sweaters and scarves are always a staple in Stat's wardrobe. He carries an array of scarves, each with a different attitude attached to them, and never leaves home without one. Shoes should always be tie-able or else they're not shoes, they're slippers, and they're hardly appropriate for leaving the house in (according to Stat).
Interests: Reading, recharging, ignoring people, and robot history/conspiracies/mythos
Personality: Stat is generally apathetic and has a constant air of indifference. If you give him a book, however, he'll most likely drop the facade. He's a massive nerd, but he'd never show it. When he isn't acting cold and stand-offish, Stat is a very kind and gentle soul. Sometimes, though, he'll use his introversion as an excuse to get away from unpleasant or loud others.
History: Stat was invented as a recreation of the first robot to have alternate intelligence, Statos-500. However, his personality differs greatly from the original model, and his AI system isn't remotely similar- a failure from creation. Since activation, Stat has always been intrigued by the original Statos and viewed him with great respect. Perhaps he got tangled up in it because it was his namesake, or perhaps because he wanted to be viewed as a success for once, but he quickly became an expert on the subject of the original Statos. Everything from the few known facts on the great Amaris Jakob's work to the detailed conspiracy theories was his to know, and he certainly did know it. However, he gave up on actually finding the Jakob's Research by 77. As the time neared the end of technological society as he knew it, his interest in the subject rekindled. He now runs a popular blog with the most detailed theories and knowledge on the missing Research.
Sample: Stat began his daily routine without much zeal. Wake up, check battery life, update blog, get dressed, do nothing productive, et cetera, et cetera. But as he picked up one of his favorite books to begin step five, he noticed he had received an email.
Subject: EMERGENCY.
Probably not important, then. He deleted the email only to instantly receive about five more from the same sender, each titled "EMERGENCY".
Hm. Maybe it's a little urgent.
Extra: Stat owns physical copies of his favorite books, even though his eyes don't function properly and he can't actually read them.

Nickname: Jenny (Get it? Gen-y, haha. Ha. Ah...)
Age: 90, although her parts are replaceable and thus varying in age.
Type: Android
Gender: Female; she/her
Sexuality: Homosexual
Appearance: A petite, waifish little android with ivory artificial skin that feels slightly too much like plastic and snarled black "hair" (actually very thin wires, left when they unplugged her from the mother system) that might look alright if they weren't in a constant state of entanglement. She has rips and tears in her skin at some places, showing a nice-enough carbon interior. Her right eye has been damaged and she doesn't have the money or resources to repair it, and so it continuously wanders like a lazy eye, and is a very dull shade of blue compared to her other eye. She often keeps her hair covering that eye as to not scare people.
Wardrobe: Anything she can find; this often leads t her wearing mismatched clothing or shabby/stained clothes.
Interests: Working, music, helping little androids/those not as well off, traveling
Personality: Jenny is quite meek and soft-spoken, a sweet, simpering little robot who's quite at peace with the world and seems pretty content. She loves to help others, and is quiet and efficient, not to mention fast. She's calm, introspective, polite, and chivalrous; what more could anyone wish for? However, she experiences strange moments of irrational annoyance and anger, and sometimes finds herself quite ready to snap and yell at the other party. During moments like those, she feels angry and rebellious, hating herself and everything around her; she doesn't know why or how it happens. Perhaps it's just a glitch in her system.
History: Jenny is from the Genesis line of androids; a line that was groundbreaking for it's time as they were fully self-functioning robots that were built for human tasks, like taking the mail or cooking meals. Starting from Gen-a, they kept improving upon the Genesis line until they were insanely realistic and counted as artificial intelligence, which happened around Gen-g. However, this brooked some problems; humans, unable to really tell the difference, began falling in love. And vice versa. The line was supposedly discontinued. However, corporate businesses, greedy businesses, kept their blueprints and continued to make Gen robots, thinking that taking out the coding for emotional response would do the trick. It didn't, not really, as these robots were still AI that could learn, and they eventually developed their own views, morals, and feelings on things. They were discarded when that happened, all of them, and rebooted much later by other AI. Jenny was one of those robots. She currently resides in a small android pocket and oftentimes acts as a messenger and delivery person, bringing resources to and from the richer parts to her residence. Perhaps she was made for that sort of job, long long ago; the reboot wiped her memory, so she doesn't remember.
Sample: Jenny did everything that she was told. Alright, well, not everything. However, she had a certain meekness, a certain air of soft-spoken politeness that everyone just assumed she was led around like a stray cyborg and was completely okay with it. While Jenny didn't actually mind helping people and giving them favors, she certainly felt a sharp shock of irritation when they simply dismissed her after the task was done, not even giving her a thank you or a small present. She would have even settled for a piece of scrap metal; god knows that her feet, which ran themselves around day and night to perform tasks for other robots, could use them.
Extra: spaghetti! I also completely pulled her story and stuff out of thin air, so apologies if something is "wrong".

Gender: Male; he was modeled after a male human and uses male pronouns.
Sexuality: Bisexual, with no preference.
Appearance: Jem is the average height for male humans back when they were still alive, with a slender build. His shell was colored and built accordingly to the human whose soul was programmed into him - "James". Artificially fair-skinned, with almond-shaped brown eyes, and long, straight black hair that doesn't so much grow as hang there like thin threads. It is put up when he is concentrating. An accident years back caused the skin and machinery on his arms to be replaced, a delicate process that caused him to wear a stand-in for a while (or go arm-less). Being a cyborg his shell is fragile and very easily damages, but his job tends to provide him with the repairs he needs.
Wardrobe: Full of dark clothes and shoes. He likes especially soft sweaters and is always seen outside with an olive green or dark red hooded jacket.

Interests: the arts (books, art, music, et cetera), warmth, humans, exploring
Personality: Jem is highly contemplative and curious and always worries and thinks too much about everything that passes his mind. As such, he tends to be very cautious and cold to strangers but will gradually warm up if he sees you don't mean harm, especially if he notices that you genuinely need help. His initially unfriendly exterior is only a habit; he knows he is stiff and quite inelegant around other robots (to put it politely, he's bad with others and has a 'slightly-off' sense of humor) and is too afraid of trying and failing to win their affections. He is a stubborn individual who dislikes relying on others and is self-critical, and also one that is easily frustrated and embarrassed, seen almost always without a smile but with a small scowl on his face. He finds it difficult to express his emotions openly like some other robots do; it seems to only happen when he acts. Despite his shortcomings, Jem is a gentle and caring person who would never abandon his friends, should he gain them.

History: "James" was one of the last humans to live upon the earth, and it was under the rumor that he had been a young, genius AI researcher and scientist who, for some reason or another, stayed out of the spotlight. His soul was planned to be programmed into a cyborg shell years in the past, but the plan had never actually been completed until a little over a century ago. It was picked up by a small team of robots intrigued with the research of Amaris Jakob. That was how Jem was 'born', in the hopes that he would immensely help them in their work and the lost research in the little time they had left. However, it was only right after he was activated that they realized that something was off. Jem was nothing like the scientist he was based off of. Yes, he was made to look exactly like him and even sound like him (based on very old footage and images), but not a hint of his personality or AI aptitude was there. They shut him down when he was only a week old, to do further research. The answer came in the form of a strange block that was deeply imbedded into the pseudosoul of "James". It prevented even the most skilled robots from programming it into a cyborg shell, and the block could only be removed from within through an unknown method. The team rebooted Jem simply to try and monitor him throughout the years for any noticeable change. But the deadline drew closer and little seemed to change. Jem himself holds a deep curiosity for his human namesake, but almost entirely tries to ignore the fact that his soul is not his own. Fast forward to present-day and Jem is a well-known actor, working from the ground up. When he was about 30 he ran away and tried to get a different job, but despite his efforts he was simply not made for the workload; his arms were almost torn off his body and his manager was furious with the amount of damage he took and his critical condition. Needless to say, despite his popularity, he has little affection for his job and sometimes plays hooky by wandering around the neighborhoods.

Sample: He was as light as air, the black haired boy with sparks flickering from his fingertips. He was fifty meters off the ground and the wind was billowing in his vermilion cloak. Simultaneously it blew the gently glowing sparks up higher, lighting up the boy's narrowed brown eyes and the pained expression he wore on his face. No, he had to do it. There was no other way. As if a deep and uncomfortable weight was pressing against his chest, the boy took a bedraggled breath and light blossomed from his hand; an inferno of scarlet flew towards the small beings on the ground, the ones that had trusted him...

"You look idiotic as usual." There was a flash and the screen turned off. Jem groaned inwardly and swiveled in his seat to face a female telebot, much shorter than him and who was currently flashing a smiley face on her screen. "I do not," he said, although even he did not sound much convinced. He put his hands to his face and rubbed his eyes. Just doing that one scene for the extremely-overly-anticipated television show had gotten his battery down to fifteen. "I'm going to go, Mai. Need to recharge."
