Claus stopped beside Maya, allowing himself to once again catch his breath. The eyepiece of his helmet moved to the side to reveal both of his eyes and he looked up at the older girl. "The mountains, huh? I was raised on a farm with my twin brother," he said. He knew that living in the mountains was a huge difference from living on a farm, especially since he had gone to his grandfather's house in the mountains a few times and it was far more dangerous than their farm ever was. Being there for the last time had changed his life in more ways than he had expected it to. His mother had been killed on their way home and only a short period of time after that he recklessly had gone off to avenge her and ended up almost dying before Porky picked him up and made him his slave by brainwashing him. His thoughts snapped when he heard Maya speak again and a small frown crossed his lips. "No noodle stand? Well that's a shame."

The nineteen year old sniffled before actually beginning to cry, wiping her eyes as her stomach began growling as if it too were crying. "What will I eat? There isn't a noodle stand in sight!" She sniffled loudly. "Not even a burger joint!"

Claus' eyes widened as Maya began to cry. The boy shuffled closer to her and hesitantly hugged her in attempt of trying to calm her down. He wasn't sure if it would help much, but he remembered that it had often worked on his brother when he began to cry. "Maybe we're suppose to catch something and cook it ourselves," he suggested, though he wasn't even sure how to hunt, but he could probably cook something with his psi powers. "Whatever we have to do we'll figure it out so you can eat." The boy forced a smile onto his lips, hoping that his positive attitude would lift the girl up.

The young girl slowly opened her eyes and looked around at her surroundings. She saw a small town up ahead, probably her best luck at finding out where she was and how to get back home. She assumed her house was nearby, seeing as she had never left her house before, and had no idea what the area around her house was supposed to look like. She got up slowly, dusting off her dress, and began walking, in search of someone to help.

Soon enough, she spotted a man not too far ahead. Sighing in relief, she called out to him while running in his direction. "Excuse me, mister! Please wait up!"

"Alright, then." Ulysses declared. "Any ideas as to where we should go first?" He asked, glancing around. The light here was harsh on his eyes, and his aging vision was limited anyway. He hoped that from her higher vantage point, this stranger would at least be able to see further than him. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to have someone with better eyesight than him along. He silently adjusted the valve on his gas mask, lost in thought once again. Is this what the Old World was? Open, clean...no, of course it wasn't. This was a wilder place than he'd even heard of in his lifespan.

"You can cling to me if you need to." Shiloh offered brightly. "I've been walking up hills since I was just a boy." He added, leading Chihiro along as he followed the river. Upriver was the most likely place for a village; it was probably just behind that rise on the other side of the river. "But I fell over plenty of times. Once I even ran into my instructor." He chuckled, remembering the day fondly despite everything. It was fortunate that their instructor had favored him, because he probably would've tossed him out a long time ago otherwise.

"I did see some people earlier, but they've moved on by the looks of it, they've probably gone to try and find civilisation..."He murmured quietly, playing with his hands a little, picking at a loose thread on the red drape still hanging over him, now quite considerably too big due to his lack of armour, causing him to just trip over it as he tried to take a step. He sat up, having landed flat on his face, however took a few seconds to process what had just happened before beginning to laugh quietly.
