Scorchstar ducked his head, narrowing his eyes at the thought of rogues trying to attack his daughter and the blind apprentice. "By Silverpelt, I hope not.. I'll put my faith in Batpaw for now, but if they're not back by nightfall I'll lead a patrol out there myself."

When the turquoise-eyed male didn't reply, the large-eared female rolled her pale green eyes and meowed. "Well, whatever. I'm going to go check it out. I'll come back down once I resolve what's going on." And with that, the petite oriental shorthair was off, bounding up the rocky, gravelly pathway with ease, despite her short legs.
Pulling up to a screeching halt once she'd bounded out of the gorge and was on the warm, sandy desert floor again, Flarepaw paused, panting from her sprint, and tried to regain her bearings. "Now where did I hear that stupid noise again.." She asked herself, mumbling quietly as she pricked her massive ears and began to wander about. She flicked her ears, but heard nothing.. but her nose caught what she'd heard earlier. So it was a rogue! The cocky apprentice thought, curving her claws into the ground below. Ugh, what a nasty odor... Way to roast my nose, buddy.
She then strutted right up to where the scent was wafting from, a scraggly bush, and yowled, rather annoyingly, "Hey! Come on out, kitty, kitty! I know you're in there, and you're trespassing on DesertClan land, you coyote-heart!"

I hear the cat taunting me, so I decide to have a little fun. I trot casually out of the bush, no fear visible in my eyes. "Hello there." I meow. "So your a clan cat I see. Well if your going to shred my ears, I suggest you start now, you want to allow some time for your friend to run up here." I lick a paw, swiping it over my ears. "And if you wanna chase me off, just give me a headstart would ya? My legs are killing me and I don't wanna run to far." I look up at the cat, almost mockingly. "Unless of course you'd rather just have a conversation? That would please me more, but of course, this is your territory, so it's your choice."

Flarepaw wrinkled her muzzle into a dainty snarl, and she pulled her lips back over small, needle-sharp teeth. She'd learned how to face off enemies from her father - this was simply good practice. Though she already loathed the rouge, the bat-eared she-cat had to admit that he was... so.. very very handsome. But smooth-talkers and flirters were stupid and naïve and manipulative, and Flarepaw hated herself for even bothering to listen to what he said. She growled, flattening her massive ears and fluffing out her fur, "Let's hope you can fight as well as you can talk!"
With that, she launched herself into the air, acting like she was aiming for his face, but faked the lunge, and attacked his legs. Flarepaw knocked them clean out from beneath him, despite her small size, and sent the rogue stumbling to the ground with merely her will and her element of surprise.

I stumble as my legs are knocked out from under me. I correct myself so I fall into a smooth role, popping up, and regaining my footing. "Nice skills from such a small cat. I'm impressed." I leap over the cat, shoving into her from behind, I watch as she too falls to the ground and I laugh. I hadn't pushed her hard enough to hurt her, just enough to make her stumble. "You know this could've been avoided. I just wanted to have a conversation with you."

Batpaw was beyond angry. He didn't need an escort. This was why he couldn't stand other's- why did they think he was just dead weight? But what really enraged him was that Flarepaw didn't even have the decency to await a response. Was he the only one using his head here?! For a second the ebony tom was about to yowl again, but then it hit him. She'd said something about hearing a rogue? Oh mousedung. He couldn't fight and hated to do so. He was blind. And Flarepaw couldn't either! She had just ran herself into a battle she couldn't possibly win- he could hear angry yowls ahead of him. Shooting forward, he heard more banter then- Flarepaw, and a strange male tomcat's voice. What by the name of Starclan's is going on?! This is three rogues all by the same area!Okay, focus, Batpaw, focus. Your blind. Fighting is your worst suit, and Flarepaw is barely better than you. But if the tom hits you or tries grappling moves, you have a better chance- you can pinpoint his location and use a counterattack. But I hope it doesn't come to that... I am abysmal at fighting, even if he does grapple me, I would have to get really lucky to hit him. Maybe I should yowl for help- no. I'll address this first and evaluate. Then try and persuade him to leave. But if he doesn't, I'll start fighting to protect Flarepaw, and yowl for help. Perking his ears, the ebony tom listened for a few moments before padding up behind the strange rogue.

"You should know better than to trespass," Batpaw mewed in a soft yet cold voice, his filmy turquoise eyes locked on where he knew Thorn's eyes would be should the tom turn. "Now leave, unless you have a reason. If you don't leave or explain yourself now, you will be turned into buzzardfood faster than you can blink. Understood?"

Snow suddenly just felt pain in his tail. In an instant, the rogue knew what was happening. He's using his incredibly long reach to drag me to imminent defeat- he will attempt to pin me once in an intricate combo. Not bad handsome. As he was slung to the dusty ground, Snow felt a familiar rush of excitement hit him. The excitement of battle always did something to him. Just a few moments ago, a few more things were important. Such as getting into the clan not looking like he'd just been dragged across a few thunderpaths. But not anymore. If he manages to pin me, the fight is over. If I can get behind him, tire him out and perhaps knock him off balance, then things sway into my favor. As the petite tom was slammed to the ground, he felt the paws hit his throat. Defeat isn't an option.

Without a sound, the petite tom swung with his right paw directly at Hawkcry's eyes with his claws sheathed while gathering his hindlegs beneath him and slamming them hard into the massive tom's belly. If can shift his weight ever so slightly, I can perhaps flip him, using his own bulk and momentum against him. Or just squirm from beneath him and hit him in the back while he's staggering, give or take I can move quickly enough. Lucky you, young warrior, you won't be blinded with my claws sheathed. At most, you become distracted temporarily and have a bruise- I won't take away such a vital attribute from such a fine warrior if I can help it. Even more so, fighting fair will be a true test for me- it has been awhile since I've fought a large cat, and even then, I don't think I've ever fought one so large. So very interesting this is... why so extreme on fighting with power? Hmm.... we'll see soon enough.

She snarled at his touch, and hissed spitefully as he pushed her - though to the tomcat's credit, he didn't push her hard enough to fall. Flarepaw hurried to regain her footing, registering his complement and, in spite of herself, puffing up her chest and boasting a bit, "Well, my daddy taught me well." She then spat in his face after shaking out her thin ebony pelt, quickly going from calm to enraged. "But he also taught me to steer clear of cats like yourself! What business do you have here and why would you ever want to have a chitchat with me? Did you think you could stroll by and that I'd happily engage ya?"

Scorchstar flicked his ears in acknowledgement before padding back to his shady spot to watch the other cats go about their business and daily routines as he always did. Flarepaw... this is a major test. I don't know if I can trust you... You're so close to becoming a warrior yet I don't know if I can make you one when you always want to look for danger. Please come back unscathed and on time - I'm counting on you! The thoughts were directed at the ebony she-cat, but Scorchstar knew they had a para of truth around them. If she doesn't learn to behave I'll have to hold her back from her warrior ceremony... The tabby mused as he settled back down and slid into the growing shadows.

Hawkcry could tell how much he'd surprised the rogue, and he snarled in glee, letting his tail go. With his claws still on the male's throat, the dark tabby meowed, coldly, "I'll ask again. Who are you and what do you want-" He didn't get the chance to finish.
Suddenly the tom's paw came flying up at the brawny warrior's face, and, instinctively, he yanked away from him, letting him up. Only after did he realize that it was a mere trick to throw Hawkcry off-balance, as he felt hardly any pain - there was no blood, nor were his eyes missing. Then, quick as a snake, he kicked the dark tabby in the belly, pushing him further away. Snarling against the blunt kick and the slight slap he'd given him, the dark tabby pulled a move that he'd often seen Flarepaw do - he faked a lunge at the rogue, acting as if he was going for his throat, but changed direction right as he neared the snowy white imposter to attack his skinny shoulder. Hissing with newfound rage, he sank his teeth into his adversary's shoulder and clawed at his hind leg... feeling the terrifying thrill of the fight rush through his veins and his need for blood to spill flood him.

Noeyes noted that the cats around her had gone back to their usual chatter, and that Rattlestorm and Sandystrike had moved on to talk with other cats. She'd zoned out on what Scorchstar had said to end his talk with the rogues, but decided it didn't matter. However, she turned her head to face Foxfoot when the elder babbled about "some cats not liking newcomers". The Russian blue meowed, curious as to who he meant, "What ever do you mean? I can see some cats not supporting Scorchstar's decision but you seem to be pointing out some cat in particular." She snorted.
