Doc - Tag: Dusty, Shadow

Doc didn't even look back as he answered. "Only once. It was in Lightning's rookie season when I became his crew chief, and it was at the tie-breaker race. That was how I learned I was his inspiration. The King, well...I didn't really get to know him on a personal level, but he seemed quite nice. Very well-mannered too. Obviously raised right, unlike that ex-racer Chick Hicks. Chick got banned in Lightning's third season when the kid won his second Piston Cup. Chick tried to attack Lightning, but thankfully, track officials were there to see it and arrested him as well as kicked him out." He replied, not even making eye contact.

The former racecar then began to work on Shadow's engine. "Okay, Shadow. I'm going to numb the area a bit, so you might feel a bit loopy with the sedative in effect as well. Just don't move too much, Okay?" Doc said as he looked at her.

Shadow: Doc, Dusty

Shadow felt Doc move things around, joining them up and just working away, which made her shift unwillingly. She couldn't feel much, though she felt twinges every so often, making her flinch every so often. She focused on what Doc was saying, though staring at her raised hood. "You should carry your hood high there Doc... you beat the odds and inspired Lightning McQueen! I didn't know about The King mind you.... that must have been such an honour to hear...." SHe spoke almost wistfully. She fell silent a moment, thinking back over her own inspirations. That had always been Leland, and then Finn. Once Leland had helped her.... she aspired to be an agent like him. Though her learning of Finn had her inspired by him too..... Though as she went to have a glance of him again, she sighed a little, somewhat missing the feelings of awe. She still looked up to him, but she felt he was changing toward her..... and this caused her to be on edge. She continued to look at Finn in silence, though her attention was switched back to Dusty.

A small smile confirmed what he was talking about, looking down in an embarrassed manner. "Uh.... yeah I have.. noticed...." She said here, twiddling her tire now. "Only if your sure you know...." She added in a quieter voice, before looking away now, heating up a little. What was worse is that Doc would have been able to tell, which embarrassed her more, causing her to clear her throat as her engine tried to start, in an attempt to cool her down. "Well... uh.... I'm looking forward to seeing you... like that" She said here, clearing her throat here, becoming slightly flustered. "But hey! This is nothing I particularly wanted to go round telling everyone out in the open.... Hey there, my family is crazy and used to take my parts, please be my friend!" She replied, though sticking her tongue back out and managing a small chuckle even. "Yes, that's a great idea, let's tell everyone, especially the guy I really like and hoping to-" She stopped here, her mouth hanging open, heating up again. "Uhhh.... O-Ok Doc, do.... do what you need to do.." She instantly changed subjects, looking more toward Doc now.

Calypso: Miles

"Some cars are cruel Miles.... that's the world i'm afraid my darling..." She said softly, shaking her hood a little. "I can... perhaps try to convince them... I mean those with a fair amount of money behind them are able to make some sort of difference.... Though being a Baroness will help" She winked here, nuzzling him gently. "I'm rather counting on you repaying me.... Though I will let you decide how" She grinned now playfully, and happily accepted his kiss, pushing back at him a little. She gave as much passion as he, making sure he remembered it, and felt a longing as he pulled away, looking to his hood now, kissing his bumper gently here. She reversed a little herself here, giving him a firm smile. "Yes... I'm ready. Let's go"

Miranda - Tags: Blade

Miranda felt some heat in her cheeks at Blade's comment about her appearance, but laughed it off, giving Blade a bit of a comforting nudge, remembering all he had to deal with.

"English." she answered proudly. "Take great joy in helping others write and read, especially since I struggled with it myself when I was young. Nick and I both did... but we got better with time and practice. Just happy I know I can help others out who are struggling because I understand them. Get plenty of students who are Spanish speakers before they're English speakers." She smiled. "They don't have to go through the same thing I did."

Spray - Oskar

The black plane pursed his lips a bit. Did he need anything?

He finally shrugged his ailerons. "Not really. Although I might need some ammo for my guns. I forgot to resupply before we left Propwash," he said. "If you don't mind, of course."

Doc - Tag: Shadow, Dusty

Doc noticed her engine starting a bit and frowned, but he figured it was because she was embarrassed by what she was talking to Dusty about. It was clear she didn't have many friends because of what her family did to her, which made this all the more important to him. By repairing her damages, he could help her get more of a normal life. He smiled a bit at her mentioning how he had beaten the odds to inspire the car he saw as a son before it faded. His work came first. Then he could talk about things like that.

In one swift movement, Doc inserted the medication to numb the area around her engine where the one connection was not properly done. The Hudson Hornet then went to work at once. He noted that the connection was soldered in the worst way possible, and the wires were exposed, not to mention so loose they could come out at any time. "D**n, they really did this one wrong..." He muttered to himself before he grabbed the tools needed and began to work on that connection. "This haphazard job would have killed her if those wires came loose..."

The racecar removed the old solder and the wires before placing in new ones as well as soldering those fresh wires into place. Unlike before, the connections were now going to be solid and remain in place for the rest of her life. Doc seemed to relax a bit once that was done. "That should do it..." He breathed. The major stuff, despite it being just a few things, always made him nervous. "Now it's just the minor stuff."

Doc then looked to Finn for a moment. "Is there any place I could let loose for a while after I'm done here? And by let loose I mean race. It helps me calm down after major work like this."

Dusty and Finn - Tags: Shadow, Doc

"REALLY?" Dusty asked in response to Doc's answer on the King. "That sounds AMAZING! I've always wanted to meet him! Him and McQueen are the two racers from my time I respect the most! I mean how cool would it be? I already met Lightning but... well guess I'll just have to be a bit more inventive to meet the King, since he's... retired I believe." the plane commented.

"Heheh... I'm sure!" Dusty responded to Shadow now. Finn caught her looking at him, and he looked back, his green eyes neutral but perhaps slightly twinged with... worry over her condition. He didn't say anything know, as he had no idea what was going on through her mind right now. He glanced to Dusty as the plane continued speaking. "Heheh! Too bad you have to wait though since I can't..."

"Actually we can rig one of these bays to paint you." Finn interrupted him.

"Really?" Dusty smiled. "Huh... let's... let's do that then! I'll get painted while she gets checked out!" he suggested. Finn nodded, and led him over to a nearby bay. Hitting a button, he moved aside so Dusty could program what he wanted into the computer. But Dusty found it a bit above him so he asked for some advice, to which Finn had to show him a few of the controls. Dusty finally entered the bay, but caught what Shadow had said. "Wait... hoping to...?" he asked, being off to her left now as the paint guns began to go to work on him now, starting to coat over his Piston Peak firefighter colors. "And I mean come on! You could've... told me of course. You KNOW I wouldn't have judged you... but... what were you about to say?" he inquired thoughtfully and curiously.

MIles - Tags: Calypso, Shinn

"Good! I'll... think of something I'm sure!" he winked at her here. He opened the door at long last, and slapped Shinn on his engines, hoping to wake him up. "Hey! You have a nice rest?" he asked. "I was attacked and abducted while you were sleeping!" he joked, looking over at Calypso now with a smile. "Still I think your peerage WILL help things! Baroness might not be very high on the rung but... every little bit helps with the monarchy! Hoo!" He stretched his wheels out from the cramped quarters he'd been in. "Any thoughts on where you'd like to head next?" he asked, looking between the two of them.

Blade - Tags: Miranda

He caught the way she had flushed a bit at his compliment to her, and it encouraged him a bit. "Ahh English! I should've known that!" he said, rolling his eyes. "Well good for you. Sure it must be a fulfilling career." A smile played over his features, which was kind of rare for him these days. Still, he decided he'd rotate himself around, and he did so, circling her and moving around 180 degrees so he was facing her now as he backed up towards the water. "Heheh! I was right! You do look..." He paused here, just gazing at her as he kept reversing, not watching where he was going. "Gorgeous." he finally said, delivering the compliment right as bumped into someone with is tail, eliciting some angry Portuguese at the chopper. Blade blushed and turned partly to apologize.

"Sorry! I don't speak Portuguese!" he exclaimed, giving Miranda an embarrassed but playful look, as he knew it would've happened at some point. Still... how would she react to this coming out of his shell?

Oskar - Tags: Spray

Oskar shook his front. "I don't mind, Herr Spray, but I tend to think ammunition is NOT sold publicly here... you'd probably need to go to CHROME's field office here for that." he stated. "Because I don't think they have public weapons' stores here and the like... it's not exactly the US after all." He winked here. "So... does that suffice?"

Shinn - Tag: Miles

At the nudge, Shinn yawned. "Sorry. I didn't...wait. Is the mission over?" He asked as he looked at the two cars. Looking to Miles, Shinn shrugged his flaps. "I don't care what we do. Although I would like to be filled in later on."

Doc - Tag: Shadow, Dusty, Finn

Doc began to work on the minor stuff now, which went faster than he had expected. Once the last connection was fixed, he sighed with relief. "Done. Everything's been repaired and fixed. I don't think you should have anymore issues, but if you do, I want you to tell me promptly. I can help, okay?" Doc told her as he closed her hood. Looking at the clock in Bay 1, Doc was surprised to see it took only two hours. He then looked at Shadow once more. "The new connections will feel a bit odd at first, but that's because they are connected in the correct manner now. You will get used to them with time."

He then moved to face her. "Hiding something like this was not a smart idea. I don't know how many others tried to check you out, but they could have helped you if you let them." Now Doc was curious. "That brings me to my next question. Why did you let me help you? I know you could have run at any time and I wouldn't have stopped you. I know Dusty being here was a factor, but taking that out, why?"

Miranda - Tags: Blade

This caught Miranda off guard a bit, some flush coming to her face again.

This is a bit different for him... she thought. Kind of cute though... I haven't seen him do this since he was an actor

She smiled gently, giving a bit of a bow with her head.

"Thank you, Blade, you're very kind." She giggled. "Still the gentlemen. Something always liked that about you." And a lot of other things... but she kept that thought to herself, not wanting to embarrass herself.

[Dusty Crophopper]

Blade - Tags: Miranda

"Heh! Well... could be seeing you again brought out the better side of me." He winked at her here, finally deciding to stop so he wouldn't run into any more beach goers. "Well..." He kind of snorted in a playful manner here. "I don't know about gentleman... Never been much of one." He rolled his eyes here, but gave her a knowing smile. "Wellllll I just... I dunno... I guess I'm happy to FINALLY see a familiar face. You know?" he asked, voice dropping a bit here. "I just... it's been so long since... well aside from Dusty, I don't know really anyone on this assignment, but I've been making some new friends too." he explained.

"I can't really... more properly put it into words... you know? I just... I'm glad to see you." he concluded, bowing his own front a little in her direction.

Miranda - Tags: Blade

"Oh, I understand." Miranda gave him a nod. "When I first started at Marvel Prep it was lonely for sure, but it was always nice when I got visits from my loved ones, especially during a stressful week." She moved a little closer. "And considering what you've been going through recently... It is nice to have someone you know well enough to talk to." She smiled gently. "Takes some weight off the rotors as it were... and it helps when it's just a moment of peace from whatever is happening."

She found herself gazing a bit at him. She couldn't help it. She hadn't seen him so long she had forgotten a lot about his appearance... not to mention the blue eyes of his. Eyes she sometimes got lost in back in the day.
