Alderpine had fallen asleep in the tree. He woke up. He leapt down from the tree. (For some reason it says leapt isn't a word. Uh. It actually is...) He found the dirt was dug up underneath his paws. The mouse was gone. "Mouse dung." Alderpine shook his head.

persephone smiled warmly. "nice to meet you too. wait, what's a medicine cat?" she asked curiously, tilting her head.

eveningpaw found her way back to the camp after a while, flicking her tail. she was miserable, alone, hurt, and exhausted. she looked up to see thunderpaw, her eyes were clouded and dull. she looked away, padding into the apprentice's den alone.

"oh, um..." firefly paused, unsure of how exactly to capture what a medicine cat was in simple words. "it's a cat who takes care of other cats and heals them when they're sick. we can also speak to our ancestors in dreams and they help us."

persephone listened carefully. "woah, you talk to your ancestors in your dreams? that's amazing!" she meowed in awe, looking up to firefly.

Nightpaw
Nightpaw was sitting in front of the apprentice's den. She moved out of the way, when Eveningpaw walked in. She looked behind her, standing up. She padded to Eveningpaw. "Hey... Are you alright?" she asked, seeing how Eveningpaw was.

firefly grinned back at persephone, before glancing around the tree he had fallen out of, searching for cobwebs. once he found them, he applied them to his own wounds before replying. "yes, i suppose it is," he conceded. "although not all of them are nice. some can be a right pain most of the time,"

eveningpaw's body tensed when she saw nightpaw. "since when do you care about the worthless half-blood?" she growled lowly, looking away.

persephone nodded. "yeah, i know how you feel. i used to live in a den with most of my family members cramped in there with me. grandparents and all! they were usually pretty bitter towards me, but i loved them nonetheless. but then one night..." she tensed, not finishing her sentence.

Nightpaw
Nightpaw frowned and closed her eyes. She counted to ten and looked at Eveningpaw. "Since now. And why would I even care about you being half-blood?" she mewed, tilting her head. "I've never said anything about it." she added, still sounding very calm which was rare.

firefly sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws to keep warm as he listened to persephone. "if you want to talk to some cat about this, i've got ages,"

eveningpaw turned away, not talking to nightpaw. after all, nightpaw was really never nice to her, so why should she believe her this time?

"oh, well, it's hard to talk about, but," she meowed quietly. "about a moon ago, i was minding my own business hunting when i heard yowls. smoke filled my nostrils, there was a fire! it burned the whole den down and killed all my family members." she said with a tiny whimper.
