The brunette merman swam closer to the shallow waters, though he made sure to stay close to the sand in case he had to make a smokescreen before escaping. The merman couldn't help but have an interest in humans, they were interesting to the male; something new and dangerous. He always made sure to keep enough distance between himself and humans, though he liked watching them; especially the ones on the shore. Some would come into the water and swim but they never strayed to far from the land, not unless they were in those large boats. The male peeked his head above the waves slightly, underwater he could only see legs and sand but above he could easily see the rest of the humans who were splashing about in the shallow waters.

Mir had been swimming for a while now, aiming to reach the colony. However, she found herself swimming in a random direction. She decided to peek above the sea level in hopes that maybe there would be some sort of landmark that would help her. However, it seemed that reality decided that she would spend a good, long time trying to reach the colony. She didn't like to be in large groups with others, so she sought peace and quiet in the open. Miramar saw the ocean as her sancuary, her safehouse, and more of a home than her place at the Conch Colony. The raven haired mermaid swam, her torn fin glittering as the shreds reflected the sunlight.

Phi smiled softly as she swam through a school of colorful fish, a bubble of laughter bursting from her lips as a few of the fish rubbed against her skin. She had been in a rather foul mood this morning until she ran into one of her dolphin friends. It was a large, scarred up male that she called Gus. He always seemed to know how she was feeling. When he had found her he knew she was upset so he brought her out to play. She was currently playing a game of hide and seek with him.
"Oh where are you Gus?" She called out in a sing songy voice, the smile never leaving her lips. She stopped swimming for a moment and scanned the coral around her, her smile widening at the sight of a grey tail. She quickly swam over and grabbed onto the fin on Gus' back. "Got you!" She called out with another laugh. Her honey brown eyes sparkled brightly with happiness.

xxxOnce the Dark mermaid was far out of sight, Kit sucked in the remaining bit of air from his tank and steadily made his way back to the surface to avoid getting the bends. The water glimmered and grew brighter as he neared the back of the boat from the ocean depths.

xxxOnce he breached the water, Kit breathed in as much air as he could in one breath then was released when he didn't have to hold it in for long time. Kit spun around in the water and swam towards the boat. "Ruth! Kill! Help me up!" These were the nicknames he had given his friends. He swam up to the lowed deck of the boat and grabbed on to the latter. "Guys! Come on! I don't want to be in these merfolk infested waters without my air-tank!" He teased as he patiently waited for the rest of the crew to help him on board.

xxxAfter grabbing his fishing spear and a bit of net from a fishing boat to found, Cody swam out to his favorite fishing area. As is so happened, his fishing area was beneath a huge dock by shore. Many tasty fish swam there and many humans would drop strings with hooks on them in the water. Upon discovering this place when he was younger, he came to realize that the humans would wait until a fish would eat the food on the hooks and get stuck then pull them out of the water. He didn't know what happened after that point. What he did know is that when one of those hooks grabs hold of something, the humans pull them up fast. And he knew this because he got one on his shoulder one day and has a nice little scar from it now. So now he always stays under the range of the metal hooks.

xxxOnce Cody had gathered a few live fish to last him the week, he placed them in his net then went off to cut a few fish free from the hooks, then decided to swim about and scout out the place.

As Lynn watched he noticed a few humans sitting on the dock with these long sticks in their hands, from what he knew he figured they were fishing and let's just say Lynn got even more curious. The brunette swam a bit closer, making sure to stay submerged so he wasn't seen by the humans above. Soon enough he got close enough to spot some of the fish and the hooks in the water, he also saw a familiar face freeing some of the trapped fish. He swam a bit closer, making sure to avoid the hooks. He was mostly interested in why the other merman was freeing the fish, sure it would be the right thing to do but wouldn't the humans get suspicious?

xxxAfter cutting a few fish free, Cody spotted a rather large fish in the distance, but soon realized that it was a fellow merman. He placed his knife back into the pouch he made, and swam to greet the fellow merman. "Dude, don't sneak up on a fellow like that. I thought you were a shark!"

Lynn smirked at the other's reaction, "Am I really that scary?" he asked with a light laugh, "Anyway I didn't mean to sneak up on you, it was more of like I thought you already saw me or something." he stated with a shrug. "So what exactly are you doing? Other than freeing fish..." he asked while crossing his arms slightly.

After leaving the other merman after he acted as if he had other things to do she decided that just sitting in the shallow depths was dangerous and headed deeper into waters. Little did she know she was swimming right into conch territory. With swift movements of her dark red black tail she propelled herself through the cool waters. Another Jason why Chesiabell took a liking to the shallow because it was warmer.

Without knowing she swam right into Miramar. Shocked and scared she stammered. "I'm so sorry! " She held up both hands in defense. He blue eyes watching the other hoping she wouldn't report her to her colony and have her punished.

He swam back out to sea hunting for more fish for the colony... after all they came first. He turned and swam down the ocean floor watching the reflection against his skin but he continued on in silence. Even though tates thoughts raced on everything that had happened. The blurred images of his sister...hunters weapons...screams...blood... Tate cleared his head before pausing hearing a voice and looked to Seraphina a conch mermaid. He tilted his head in curiosity.

Gus turned around and rubbed against Phi happily. "Come on Gus. Let's go find some human stuff." Phi said softly. She had always had a fascination with human stuff, which is why she wore the human locket around her neck. She turned around and was about to swim off towards a ship wreck she knew of when she saw Tate. A soft blush rose to her cheeks as she realized he had seen her acting so childish. "Uh, hello." She said softly, bitting her bottom lip nervously.

Just like every day, the sun had gone up above the water, and now wasn't too far from the middle of the sky, or so it is called. Cameri felt herself daydreaming about what she would do if she were a human. For one, she wouldn't allow for mermaid hunting to continue any longer. She shook her head as if to clear off her thoughts. Of course she wouldn't want to be a human, not even in her wildest dreams! What was she thinking about?! It was best to leave the matter be, or else she would've spent the rest of the day thinking about it. Something brushed against her arm and her skin tingled; she looked down and found Astha, her beautiful axolotl, resting on her hand. The small creature's mouth, resembling a smile, was open; he must've been asleep. Yes, his eyes were closed. Giggling, Cameri nudged him with her finger and he awakened immediately, frightened, but was reassured by his owner that he was in no danger whatsoever. Despite his sleepiness, he placed himself next to her loyally, ready for the day. The mermaid wrapped her tail gently around Astha and off she went! Oh, how her tail shimmered! Laughing, she darted off towards the shore, where she could be for a while and watch the humans without showing her tail, as from the waist up she raised no suspicions. And it was so much fun watching the humans, that she couldn't resist popping up in the beach now and then, yet without exiting the water. Slowly, she raised her head above the water level and gazed at the people on the sand, some sunbathing, others making sandcastles, and yet others near the water. A small fisherman's boat lay on the shore, and she guessed it to have once been painted red, whereas now the paint was peeling off in several places. A name was also present, and it took Cameri a while to decipher the faded letters, as she wasn't used to reading. Salmon's Fate, it read. What funny names the humans invented for their boats! Something caught her keen eye and she looked over at a small child playing with a crab, trying to pry it open with its small nails. Of course she felt protective for the poor creature (the crab, obviously), and tried to call the human child as quietly as she managed. But when the child finally turned its head to look at her, it must've glimpsed a shadow of Cameri's tail so it began screaming its head off, calling its father. Before Cameri had time to dive, in a fright, the alarm was raised, everybody on the beach started backing away and yelling, and a net was thrown by two passing fishermen. The mermaid's heart raced fast against her chest, in the panic, and she tried to get away but it was of no use as the net had entangled itself around her whole body and she was now hopelessly stuck. Her axolotl raced off through the water, into the depths, probably to fetch help, but Cameri thought all was lost by then. The fishermen tugged at the net and it easily dragged her onto the sand, as she wasn't heavy at all. " Why, what a great find. " She heard one of the men say, and people started to gather around her, to take a look at her wonderful aqua and pink tail. Her body wasn't accustomed to so much sunlight, her gills were starting to gather sand in them, and Cameri struggled around in the net helplessly. Oh!, how foolish she had been. And now, she thought, she was going to die because of her own foolishness.
Meanwhile, Astha, her pet axolotl, raced off through the sea to find help, just another mermaid or merman, it doesn't matter what colony, just help. Finally, he stumbled upon Chesiabell. Nudging her hard in the shoulder with his small fin, he tried to gesture towards the beach, to ask her to follow him. He was extremely worried for his owner's life, so he nudged her again and tried to mimic humans catching a mermaid and pulling her onto the sand, and also pleaded for the other mermaid also present, Miramar, to come too as a lot of help was needed.
