"My mother, Angel." Nicholas told her. "She blamed herself for it, and sadly I never had the chance to tell her I wasn't dead. Anymore, at least." He was careful about his wording, not wanting to spook Runa. "Apparently that... thing, was after her and not me. She has a lot of enemies, and the last thing she wanted was for me to pay for her mistakes."

Runa gave him a puzzled look "What do you mean you weren't dead 'anymore'" she asked still slightly confused. This man truly was different, but being different isn't always a bad thing.

"Well..." Nicholas began, unsure how to word this without scaring her. "You see, I..." He coughed, cleary stumbling over himself once again. Nick really didn't want to lose the only friend he had in the crazy world just because he had died once by the hand of a bouty hunter. Runa was nice and was tolerant of him, which, for once in his life, made Nicholas feel like more than just a freak spawned by a divine being.

Burrows-In-Sand followed. "What are their names? If they have names, I mean," she added curiously. She suspected they probably did, whether Jellal considered them friends and family, or not. She doubted he would consider them pets, as that was probably considered a disrespectful term within the werewolf community.

Runa watched him hesitantly, whatever it was he was going to say couldn't be to bad. She gently placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder "If you don't want to say it you don't have to, but I promise, no matter what it is, that I won't freak out" she said in a soft and soothing tone. She let her hand linger for a moment before slowly pulling it away, she could tell he was uncomfortable enough as it is, she didn't want to make it any worse.

Nicholas hesitated for a moment. Maybe she was different. More... accepting than most he had come across. "Do you promise?" Nick asked, a spark of hope lighting up in his eyes at the possiblility that he could be treated as something other than a freak. "Promise me you won't be scared. You have to promise." Nicholas had never been one for promises, as most people he knew always broke them. He had no other way of assuring her trust, anyway.

Runa looked into his eyes "I promise I won't be scared" she said, a gently smile on her face. There wasn't a lot that scared her, other the spiders, she didn't fear death nor Deadra. She watched him patiently awaiting what he was going to say.

Nicholas sighed some, thankful that she had promised. He'd never actually told anyone about this. Most didn't stay past learning he was a necromancer, let alone hearing that hr had died, and his father got him back from the plains of the undead. "You see, I died once..." Nick coughed to clear his throat. "And... well, the only reason I'm here right now is because my father pulled a few strings and got me out." Runa probably had questions, so he may as well answer them now. "You're probably about to ask me who my father was, to accomplish something like that. My father is Death, quite literally."

Runa remained completely silent, staring into his eyes. That was a lot to take in, but she made him a promise so she remained calm just trying to comprehend what he said. "Wow" she whispered bewildered, she wasn't sure what else to say, or if she should even say anything.

Nicholas braced himself to be hit, as he always imagined that if he told someone, they'd scream and lash out before running away. He waited for Runa to do the same, but it never happened. She seemed more at ease than he was, even. Taking note of this, Nick dropped his defensive stature and looked back at her. "You... You aren't afraid of me?"

Runa hesitated a moment before shaking her head "Afraid? No. Completely dumbstruck? Definitely." she with a quiet chuckle. She looked him over once more, still trying to understand all of this.
