The calico grumbled as he entered the den, the wide array of scents could easily bombard the she-cat. Her sense of smell would be heightened during pregnancy. Mumbling incoherently, Owlleaf pushed a few herbs aside before taking out daisy leaf, a medium size white flower and some dandelion leaves. The daisy leaf would ease her joints, the weight of carrying the kits would definitely put a strain on them and the dandelions were just a general painkiller to help with any other pain she might have. "I have two things for you to chew and swallow the juice of." The tom carried a single daisy leaf and a single dandelion leaf. "Here chew these, perhaps not together unless you prefer it that way." Owlleaf sat quietly, waiting for the she-cat to eat the pain medication.

Her head turned to face Aspenfoot who had stood beside Ivyshade and herself. Acknowledging his greet, Sedgewing mewed gently back. Her eyes narrowed slightly, she didn't remember his name being called. Giving him a sidewards glance, "Why is he here?" She thought contently, rolling her eyes whilst turning her head to face away from him. "This tom is always desperate to get out the camp..." Her thoughts continued.

At the sound of the Deputy's voice, the young apprentice jumped up. She always enjoyed going out of the camp. Bounding towards the centre, Ravenwing sat diligently down. Listening to the names being called out, herself and her mentor had been called for the hunting patrol. The she-cat couldn't help but feel joy and excitement well up inside her. Her tail waving furiously, unable to contain her excitement. It was out of character for the shy cat to become so excited to be out in a group but she knew that the hunting party would disband and spread out over the territory, leaving Ravenpaw and her mentor, Goldenleaf alone.

The tom barely caught Sedgewing's narrowed eyes, but he saw them out of the corner of his own. The eyeroll made him bristle a bit, but he took a long, slow breath and forced himself to relax. It was early, and he was hungry. His temper was not in the best shape from being on the border patrol for the third morning in a row, either. He grit his teeth and sat, very pointedly looking away from Sedgewing. This wasn't shaping up to be a very good day, if things continued down the same track.

she padded over to the deputy and cuffed his ear gently. "I guess we can say you were meant to be leader dustfeather. though not right now." she meowed, amusement glittering in her eyes. she saw him look at morninglight, as silverstar was rather watchful sometimes. she knock her shoulder with his. "though, the cats will be fine with those patrols. you have done good." she meowed, praising her deputy. she licked her lips before padding towards the fresh-kill pile.

she wolfed down the herbs in front of her, not wanting to taste it. then a few moments later it sank into her taste buds. she scrunched her nose but nodded thanks to owlleaf and lostpaw. "thank you!" she meowed gratefully before padding out of the den and settling herself outside of the nursery. she looked down at her belly once more. "I'll take good care of you. I swear." she vowed with a small smile. she hoped that most of them looked like their father, or acted like the tom.

The tom nodded, "Your very welcome, within the next half a moon, I would like to examine you again, if that's okay with you. Just to make sure there are no late complications with the pregnancy. Wouldn't want anything sneaking up on us." Owlleaf chuckled. Watching the she-cat exit the medicine cat den, he followed her out to the entrance of the den. His eyes scanning for Lostpaw. The calico tom hoped to take the apprentice out to search for herbs, however, he did have a little surprise for her. The tom hoped he liked what he had planned.

"Calm yourself Ivyshade, I'm sure that the others will arrive soon. You have to remember its a little earlier than the usual patrol. I haven't had the chance to eat yet." The orange spotted she-cat told her, her stomach rumbling gently accordingly. "I swear I'll be dead by the time we get back." The she-cat chuckled gently. Sedgewing turned back to take a look at Aspenfoot. It seemed he had turned away from her, his stature a little more bristled. Thinking he may have noticed her harsh gestures, she shuffled towards him. "Aspenfoot..." She began, "I'm sorry if you saw me rolling my eyes. The patrol is earlier than usual and I suppose I'm just a little bit grouchy. I think everyone involved is." Sedgewing explained, hoping to get back onto his good side...maybe.

Sandpaw could not find Sedgewing. He was rather confused. He searched camp for his mentor, looking worried. Suddenly, he bumped into Dustfeather.

"Have you seen my mentor Sedgewing?" Sandpaw asked. He waited for a reply eagerly. Training was vital in order to become a warrior.

Lostpaw was sitting outside the medicine cat's den, taking in the fresh air as she waited for her mentor to finish up with Morninglight. Her paws itched to leave camp, never having really been one who likes to laze about in the sun. Walks in the territory were amongst her favourite things, even if she always needed an escort, so she hoped she'd be able to leave camp.
The blue-grey molly's nose twitched as she picked up Owlleaf's scent beside her. "How's Morninglight?" Lostpaw asked, standing up and facing the older tom. She was always curious when it came to queens and kits. Though... kits also made her self conscious. They were young and when they'd open there eyes and meet her for the first time, they'd most likely be frightened.

He flicked an ear at Sedgewing, taking a slow, deep breath before looking at the she-cat out of the corner of his eyes. He turned to face her a bit more before speaking, considering the weight of his words carefully. "It's fine, I guess I'm a bit on edge, too. I've been on border patrol three times in a row now." He tried to make the last part sound like a joke, but it fell a little flat - he was hungry, and his back legs were still a little sore, and he absolutely hated border patrol. The tom flicked his tail at the she-cat so she didn't think he was upset with her. He rose a bit haltingly, peering over at the warrior's and apprentice's dens, looking for Blizzardstep and Sandpaw. Ivyshade sounded and looked pretty upset, he mused to himself. Hopefully nothing else got under her fur during the patrol, or else he and the rest of the cats in it could suffer the unfortunate consequences. He made a mental note to be more polite than usual to the she-cat.

The tom's fur bristled slightly, "Oh! Lostpaw... I didn't see you there." He admitted, sitting himself down next to her. "Morninglight is doing fine... the kits are strong and healthy from what I can tell." He explained. Owlleaf waved his tail gently from side to side. "Would you like to come on a walk with me to collect herbs today?" The calico medicince cat asked, he knew that Lostpaw loved to get out of the camp but wasn't too keen on being with an escort. Sighing gently, "If you would like of course. you may not want to go." Owlleaf teased, a small smile forming on his jowls."But if you want to, I'd go ask the Silverstar before the patrols leave."

Nodding in agreement, "Must be tough... this job isn't the best in the world. Considering no one has even attempted to cross the borders in moons. It like were the only clan out there..." She sighed. Sedgewing didn't like the prospect of being the only clan to roam the area. Gazing over the camp, Sedgewing tried to find her apprentice, Sandpaw. He was always late and liked to sleep in but his eager attitude always mad up for it. Listing her head and pricking her ears, the she-cat searched the grounds to no avail. "I wonder where my apprentice has gotten to.." Sedgewing muttered.

Turning around to the sound of Goldenleaf, a smile formed on her face. "I can't wait!" Enthusiasm lacing her voice, "I love the hunting patrols!"The apprentice exclaimed further. Standing up, Ravenpaw rubbed her head against her mentor in a close greeting before turning and bounding a few steps. "Well come on then!" Her impatience slightly obvious, without another quick thought Ravenpaw was bounding up the slopes to the top of the camp, where a number of other cats had gathered.

Goldenleaf followed her apprentice, running to keep speed. Soon, the duo had reached the other cats. Goldenleaf dipped her head in apologies to them. "Sorry we were late," she said, head lowered. She waited for the hunting patrol leader to give the word so the cats could take off and hunt. Goldenleaf was feeling pretty optimistic about the day's hunt.

"Ravenpaw, if you don't calm down, the prey will feel you purring through the ground, she explained.

Sandpaw spotted his mentor and a few others at the camp enteance. He ran over as fast as his paws could carry him."Sorry I'm late," Sandpaw panted, looking up at his mentor, Ivyshade, and Aspenfoot. They looked disappointed, he noted.

He looked up at Sedgewing, waiting for her response. Sandpaw knew there would be chastisement for sleeping in day after day.

Dustfeather padded over to Silverstar after his incident with the patrols and felt quite embarrassed about the whole thing. The handsome brown tom gave a mrrow of laughter at her remark, "I guess you are right!" He grinned, his long tabby tail curled and uncurled in amusement. He felt proud at her praise though and he soon gained his confidence back. He sat down and watched as the patrols formed and looked at the cats who didn't get chosen, the apprentices especially would be quite disappointed. He watched Silverstar approach the fresh-kill pile and considered following her, but soon disregarded this idea. He had also considered visiting Morninglight in the nursery, but she also seemed to be busy with Owlleaf in the Medicine cat den, with a small sigh, he licked his chest, picking out bits of dirt and moss.

Disappointed her name wasn't called out, Mistpaw trailed back to the rock which she lay on top of. It gave her a feeling of security to be in camp. She looked about for Swiftpaw who wasn't called for the patrol or her mentor Foxtail. Both of them weren't in sight. Letting out an annoyed huff, she slopped down on the rock and gazed into the stream. If she saw a fish, she would maybe catch one for Morninglight the queen. Feeling as bored as every, she sprawled out and watched the clouds move in the sky. It fascinated her how the earth worked and Mistpaw was desperate to go and explore or train with her mentor.

Daisyfur gave a startled jump as her name got called for the patrol. She hadn't been on a patrol in ages and she was quite happy, in fact she couldn't wait to patrol! Her eyes searched for Eagletalon who was leading her patrol and once she saw him, she bounded over, her white fur was reflecting the sunlight and her bubbly blue eyes danced excitedly as she greeted the tom with a mew and sat down beside him, waiting on the other cats to come and join them.
