hearing a lot of sao recently
i've only seen 2 episodes so far
some guy from school told me to watch it as he says it's his fave anime now.
and now my friend told me this morning she is watching it and loves it.
ah ok

even thought ive only seen 2 episodes it seems far more interesting than log horizon ever was for me.
from reviews i think i will enjoy it but yeah a forced relationship y'all mentioning?? that always sucks to me

My friend and I were talking about how SAO portrays the panic and desperation a lot better than Log Horizon does. However, we also feel that SAO could have gone a lot farther before ending the series. Log Horizon has a lot of plot details more stories, but less character histories while more specific to living in the new world. We found the biggest difference was SAO was focused on getting out and Log Horizon seemed to just give up

*discretely posts first post ever apart from the form* *waves and hopes someone waves back and welcomes the newbie*

i haven't watched a lot of animes and i'm probably not that good at giving my opinion about stuff but i'll give it a try...
so i watched the first season of sao and i'm currently in episode 15 from the second season. i think it is enjoyable but still has a few flaws we can point out:
    - romance: in my opinion the way all the girls fell in love with kirito started to get really annoying.
    - characters: a little more character development would make it way easier to get into characters and understand them and their feelings. also, i think kirito (and maybe asuna too sometimes) are probably too over powered for my likes, in all sao, alo and ggo...
    - story / plot: i think the first arc of the anime was the best of all. i didn't particularly enjoy the fairies arc simply because it was such a drastic change from the sao world, i don't know...

but yeah, i enjoyed the action scenes, the art and the environment and overall it's not that bad at all...

I think that maybe they should have focused more on the first arc of sao, and not cut off the game before it was properly completed.

While I was in love with the land of Aincrad in SAO, I found half off the plot to be utter nonsense. SPOILERS. For instance, the murder guild. In a game with less than 2000 players, the odds that so many of the players would turn out to be murderers is obsurd. What makes it even worse is that that arc is the entire basis for the GGO arc. Then there's the matter of the characters. In the beginning of the series, Kirito, Klein, and Asuna were all pretty solid characters with notable flaws. Asuna was anti-social, Klein was fairly insecure, and Kirito was still pretty bad at interacting with others. But as the series progressed, they all became more and more cliché. Asuna was now a perfect waifu type, Klein was the cool, humorous guy, and Kirito was just... Well I think we all know what Kirito became. The picture definition of a Gary-Stu. The series had plenty of potential. It just failed to fulfill it. Sorry to sound like a bummer, but dang.

i defiantly agree with you dude

SAO was great at first, but then it just went south and to me,
became an unlikeable series

"Take a completely mediocre anime, like say, Naruto, it's just above that,"
Personally,
The only reason I stayed around for SAO
was because of the fact that I adored the action and loved the animation

@iMMoRTaL ViRuS, I'll be honest, I watch it to see the different game worlds. I mean, Aincrad was so stunningly beautiful and special that the environment alone was almost enough to make up for the rest of the show. I still turn to those settings for inspiration. (And I will say, SAO based roleplays are absolutely marvelous.) The concept is truly magnificent. It's saddening to see it put to such a waste.

i defiantly agree with Aincrad being beautiful,
but I have to disagree with it being able up to almost make up for the rest
I know hate is a strong word,
but it's seriously all I can think of when someone mentions a few characters from the show

SPOILERS AHEAD

I'll put it flatly
I HATED ASUNA
OH MY GOD,
YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW LOUDLY I SCREAMED "THANK YOU JESUS" when she "died"
I only cried when I found out she was actually alive
GO AHEAD AND SCREAM AT ME FOR HATING HER IF YOU WANT
BUT I CANNOT STAND SOME CHARACTERS
THE ONLY REASON I ACTUALLY WAS HAPPY THAT THEY PUT HER THERE
IS BECAUSE OF HOW AWESOME SHE IS IN THE ABRIDGED VERSION BY SWEABRIDGED

Spoilers end here

Speaking of SAO abridged,
has anyone else seen it?
If so,
what are your opinion on Kirito being an insane psychopathic who has literally no sense of morality,
and laughs at the sight of human suffering?
