Ginger is a female Earth Pony. Up to the age of about ten, she was considered quite fortunate.. but according to all the books she read, she was supposed to have gotten her cutie mark by then, and the absolute latest somepony could get a cutie mark was fourteen. Her parents told her she was just late in getting it, but finally when she reached the age of twelve, they relented and took her to a doctor. Ginger was diagnosed with a rare disease that made her unable to receive a cutie mark. She grew tired of being taunted, and convinced her father to take her to get a tattoo. She chose a tattoo of a thistle, and everypony now thinks her talent is gardening, when in reality, she's a terrible gardener.

She's a pale blue earth pony with spiked-up red hair. She's dyed the tips of her mane and tail blond, and her eyes are a pretty shade of green.
