Would anyone be interested if I made this a species? It's not done, I have to add the cool stuff now. And those claws. :P

Some random info on them:
- lantern colors symbolise different things.
--Pink could be fairies(arcane), yellow could be light,(common)
--Light blue air, red something random that I can't decide
--Green could be nature, dark blue water.(Less common)
--Orange fire, brown earth(these are only connections, not exactly powers)(common)
--Purple void or mind(rareish), black darkness or death(rare)

-lantern colors same as eyes, always glow all.

-Guardians that light your path

-can use claws as hands

-live in dark forests, like to help and light paths
--tend to bond with one human only, but will bond with others
--Glow doesn't go out until the last spark of life has drained from them
---Not very good at hiding

-Eat insects and fruit, sometimes (and very rarely) small rodents. The idea of meat is not very appealing to them.

-Are very connected to their elements.

-form clans in wild(or for rp)

-Pop up out of nowhere on occasion.

-have entities they follow, can be several but do determine their trade.

---Paint, generally shunned
--Shaman type
---More paint
--Alphas/chiefs
---Have a lot of feathers when in family line
--Passed down on occasion
--Dancers
---Yes, that's an occupation

-Collect shiny things to put on their necklaces

--chirps, whistles
--Cawing like crows
--Any bird noise, depends on species.
--yips, growls
--have an individual roar

Climb trees

Breed stuff:

-Bird + unknownspecies
--different birds mean different feathers and markings
--passdown can cross birds

Staff stuff:
Customs... 1 for every 10 they make, probably. Limit might be more or less.

I like Canine Gryphus, maybe use that as a scientific name? Canis Gryphus? They need a catchy name for their average names, though. I'm thinking three syllables, but I don't know what to start with, any ideas?
I'd have it in mine, too (I'll get you a prize for coming up with the scientific name.)
