Engineer
He'd ended up with one leg hanging over the edge, arms crossed over his chest as he slept. His mind filled with still pictures of machinery, or mathmatical equations, until it inexplicably turned into memories. Running around in Bee Cave, Texas with his cousins, causing no end up trouble. His family, always excited when he came running downstairs with some half-conceived invention of what's-it. The pie his mother made, every Sunday. He found himself missing home, and rolled over in bed pulling his leg back onto the mattress. He sighed quietly and forced himself to wake up; pragmatism taking over. He had a job to do; and he signed himself up for it. He'd see then again, eventually.
"Aw, hell." He murmured quietly as he remembered he'd forgotten his sentry outside overnight. It'd be a pile of rust, by now, and it frustrated him.
How could he be so forgetful? He had made it a point not to let his mind slip. A scary thought popped into his head, but he laughed it off nervously, under his breath. I'm getting all...old. Dell tried to shake the thought, and ended up waking early. He'd need to see if he had some spares lying around in the garage if a battle was still going on today. Everything might be flooded, and perhaps, they'd get a day off.
He changed in his room, tugging a red shirt over his head, fixing his coveralls, plopping a hard-hat upon his head. He had just finished lacing up his boots when he heard Scout screaming.
"Who'd the little jackrabbit make sour this time?" Dell grumbled, not wanting to break up a fight this early in the morning. When he heard Merasmus' voice, he figured Scout was actually in for it, this time. Picking fights with wizards wasn't smart, no matter who you were.
He quickly stepped into the hall, door swinging open sliftly....and smacking the creature right in the face. He rubbed his eyes, holding the door handle and looking the pair over. The thing, whatever it was, was hidden behind his door.
"What in tarnation are you yellin' about at 4 in the morning?" Engie's words came out less harsh, but more confused. The kid never woke up this early. In fact, the Scout sometimes had to be dragged from his bed he'd sleep in so late.
It took him a moment, but he looked up as he heard sirens.
"What's happening?" He called over the blaring noise.
