Ali looked back at Shandra. "I...I think its happening." he said. "Its the 24 hour sign."

"You mean, you mean that you only have twenty four hours left to live?" Shandra asked, shocked.

[Ali ^^]

"I...Yes" said Ali. He flinched again.

Shandra sat there. She was shocked and saddened beyond anything she had ever imagined. "Is... is there really no way to stop it?" she asked as tears came to her eyes.

"If I go to sleep, I can make it to tomorrow night. Thats all I can do." said Ali. He got up. "Want to come to my den with me?" he asked.

"Yes, I want to spend as much time with you as possible now," Shandra said sadly, crying softly.

Ali started walking towards his den, flinching every so so often. "Life throws things at you at the worst times." He said. When Ali got to his den, he lay down and closed his eyes.

Shandra followed Ali. "I agree," she said sadly as she continued to cry softly. When they reached Ali's den, Shandra lie down beside him, still sobbing slightly.

Ali looked at Shandra. "Don't cry." He said, licking a tear off of Shandras cheek. "Please don't cry." Ali turned back and put his head on his paws. He quickly fell asleep.

Shandra managed to stop crying. It was difficult for her to keep herself from crying. She moved as close to Ali as she could and tried to fall asleep.
