When his work was done, it was known as a “miracle”

But something was missing, there was one thing he couldn’t do,
and that was the program called a “heart”

Many years passed,
and the miracle robot that had been left all alone,
made a single wish:

Give me the “heart”, that that person,
The person I’ve always wanted to know,
made for me, until the very end of his life.

Now that that miracle has started to occur,
Why, why won’t my tears stop flowing….?
Why am I shaking? What are these beats inside me?
Is this the “heart” that I wished for?

Emory curled up in the corner that night, struggled to grasp a hold of sleep, as always. The image of the doctor flashed into his mind, as did a flash a red, and then white. Lights. People yelling. The feelings of his wrists and his ankles being strapped down for a while until he was sedated and then released.
They must have a lot of trust in him.
Maybe if they hadn't have tried to stop you from keeping me, they wouldn't have been rushed to the emergency room...ehh?
"Sam!" Emory jumped up, looking around. "Sam?" There was no sign of him. His best friend, his only companion, and his lover.
Hey, Emory...I can't come back. But I'll see you another time. I...i guess promises mean nothing now. I can't stay away. Just know that I love you.
Just his voice. There was no sign of him. Distraught, Emory curled back up, slowly shutting his eyes.

"Look, Doctor. I was terrified. No way could he have moved so fast. Something grabbed my ankle. And it wasn't little Memory." The nurse leaned in, her voice quite. "And then we try to tell him there is no Sam, and he goes crazy. Did you see Gibson? He looked terrible! We need a new security replacement while he's in the hospital." Her voice sounded rushed. The doctor waved his had dismissively. "Gibson will be fine. As for Emory and 'Sam', i'll take care of it."

Golden eyes scanned the paperwork in front of him nervously. "There's no way. This can't be possible." He murmured, shuffling through them once more. "Can't be real." His findings, he knew, could possibly show little Memory was not as crazy as he may seem. Golden eyes narrowed, he grabbed the papers in a rush. "Burn them. It's the only way." And he disappeared. A giggle echoed in the hallways. His head jerked up quickly. "Hello?" Nothing but another giggle, closer now. He turned the other way and began to run, unaware that he dropped a paper behind him.

"Morning, Emory." A different nurse? Emory stared up at her. She was younger, he guess she was new to the Maitland Asylum. "Here you go." She said absently, handing him two cups, then leaving. She's definitely new. He sighed and downed the water, leaving the pills under his pillow. He looked across the room at the door, noticing a paper. Oh yeah. New. She dropped her papers! Curiosity getting the best of him, he crawled over and picked it up.
Proof, my love...
Blinking, Emory stared at the words.

Samuel McIntosh -- Patient #3278-1
Male, Age 10
Admitted December 18th, 1891
Schizophrenic; Dangerous; Under supervision at all times.

Emory stops reading, not wanting to read anymore. (Plus, it's a little burnt. but there is still a few more lines)
"Sam...Sam?"
Silence.
"Sam...are you dead? You're a ghost? And you just come to me in my dreams?"
A child's giggle.
"Sam, I love you. Please come visit me in my dreams more. I don't care that I'm here. This is where i met you, in this crummy asylum. And now that i know you were a patient too, i feel closer to you. Okay, Sam? I love you."
There's a long silence. Emory curls back up in the corner. Silence it all he ever hears. Silence is all he will probably ever hear again. He doesn't care if anyone thinks he's even more crazy than before, when he didn't have Sam. He'd rather be here with him.
"Love you...Sam..." Emory murmurs tiredly, closing his eyes for a nap, like he usually does.
Once asleep, a child's giggle sounds loudly in the room, and humming.
