{ ＩＮＫＬＩＮＧＳ v.4 } A Thread For Writers

Last night I didn't feel like going to bed, so I decided to sit down and write something. I was planning on writing a poem, but ended up writing some Star Trek fanfic. I was quite pleased with how my first paragraph turned out, so I've decided to write a whole story (which I'm working on.). Not sure if I'm writing a book or an episode, but here's what I've written so far:

The Enterprise was on her way to respond to a distress signal sent by Capt. Wilcox, the captain of the starship and the Enterprise's sister ship, the Embassy. Capt. Wilcox had warned Kirk to arm the Enterprise with its deflector shields, and in doing so, she was temporarily immune to the strange radiation that was about to blow the Embassy to bits.
Once there, the Enterprise used a tractor beam to transport the majority of the Embassy's crew--including Capt. Wilcox and his daughter--to safety aboard the Enterprise. Only seconds later, the Embassy blew up. The Enterprise quickly left the dangerous radioactive area before she, too, was blown to pieces.

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with Star Trek, but if you are, what do you think of it so far? Do you think it could become a good story?
