It's either a Wynaut or a Togepi.
And yeah, you should try the Mach bike since it's faster and thus takes less time.
A really good area to go to is the Battle Resort, since there's a way to infinitely loop around on there, perfect for hatching eggs, but I don't think you've been there yet. Try the route left/west of Mauville City? I believe there's a rather long path there. Or right above Rustboro—you'd need to either have Surf or come out from Meteor Falls, though.
I'm not so sure about the last two locations, but just walk around and see what's best for you.

Is it the 3DS itself or your Internet in general? Since if it's just your 3DS you might be able to go somewhere with free Wi-Fi (libraries? Gamestop maybe? idk I'm sorry but there are normal stores too, like Michael's... okay idk if that qualifies as "normal" but you know, there are places! ?) and receive it that way, maybe?

All you have to do to hatch an egg is to carry it with you and walk around. Once you reach a certain number of steps, the egg will hatch. The strategies being mentioned here are just ways to speed up the process; if you wanted you could just keep the egg with you as you play through the game normally and eventually it will hatch. If you wish to hatch the egg more quickly ...

• Have a Pokemon with Flame Body or Magma Armor in your party (not sure if it has to be next to the egg or not, but you might want to put it there just in case.) That will decrease the number of steps you need to take for each egg.
• Find a long, straight path you can go up and down repeatedly without a lot of effort. I haven't tried to hatch anything in ORAS yet and spend most of my time in Y, so I don't really know which Hoenn routes work best. I'm sure you can get a recommendation from someone else here, or you can just look around and find a good route yourself.
• Use a bicycle. You might want to go with the slightly faster one, but which bike you use does not really matter; the point is that is makes you go a lot faster and therefore take more steps in less time than walking/running.

You just need to have the pokemon with the ability in your team (having two with the ability doesn't make it faster though) and hatching goes even faster, if you combine all those things with the Hatching Power.
In ORAS you can also find people who help you with the eggs in a Secret Base (like you could in Black/White 2 in the Join Avenue).

Also, I'm trying to think up a fan fiction, I can't think of which ship to use, Ash/Iris or Ash/Serena, or a polygamy fan fiction with both ships

I was playing PMD2 and doing an escort mission, when I stepped on a warp trap and my escort fainted. I could've potentially lost my Budew and Sacred Scarves, both three-star exclusive items. DX I'm not in a good mood now. (On the bright side, May the Vulpix and Ursus the Munchlax have graduated! I was power-playing Sky for most of today.)
