His happy demeanor changed to a flat one at the apprentice's question. He had to think for a moment, to choose if he wanted to tell the apprentice the truth or blatantly lie...

"Well, it's not easy just living alone too...," he said carefully, "Especially since I came from a walker's dwelling. It was new, especially since i wasn't much older than you."

wintercloud looked at the ground with narrowed eyes. she didn't want aspenwhisker to get hurt, as "close friends". she didn't understand why sandclaw and hollytail had been with the unknown cats, but she could see two laid down cats. were they unconscious, asleep, dead, wounded? -wintercloud was also aware of the fact that aspenwhisker or herself could get even more hurt.

(Actually, I believe Frosttail is with Sagestep, Riverglow, and Hornetclaw. Not Poisonedclaw and Spiderpelt ^^ Spiderpelt is with Poisonedclaw and let's say.... Owlpaw.)

With a smile, he made himself go closer to Fiercestrike. The tom looked at Splash and fawnstep and waited for someone to lead the way out of camp.
