Day 2-gold to brown

Postby LightHorse131 » Fri Jul 24, 2015 6:35 pm

The float rattled down the unpaved drive-way, in the dark i could just make out the out line of the fences on each side of the so called road, and felt every bump along the road.
I could feel the impatient colt's movement in the horse-box and could hear him whinnying to my horses that stood in the paddock beside the dive way.
I parked the car and trailer in-front of the round-yard and ran around the back of the float to where I knew the gate was. I swung open the gate and reversed the car so that the float door/ramp was inside the yards. Carefully, I released the float door and lay it gently on the ground. I waited for the sound of hooves on metal, i waited for the sight of a golden horse galloping out against the black of night but ever so carefully did my Eagle enter the muddy yards.
I shut the gate and float door and parked the car in the shed.
....................................................................................................................................................................................
The next morning, I rushed out of bed to see my new colt in the light of the day, I chucked on my boots and power-walked over to the round-yard. Eagle got up when he saw me coming, running to the far side of the yards then running back when he saw the large bale of hay i had for him. Looking at my new horse as i chucked the hay over the fence I saw what seemed to be mud on his golden coat. Carefully as he tucked his head in the hay, I walked over to him. Touching his side for the slightest second I felt the caked on mud that lay on his side, to Eagles surprise he threw up his head and jumped side ways, seeing me he seemed to think about running off but decided that he would have more fun throwing hay at me!
