I know I have never really been all that active in the community as a whole, mostly helping to keep things running behind the scenes, but I also think that gives me a good chance to be as unbiased as possible when problems may arise between members of the community so it isn't something I entirely regret. I do want to make it clear though that if anyone has a problem with anything in the community, please don't hesitate to PM me about it. My number one goal is making sure the community is happy, feels safe and welcome, and that everything is as fair as possible. I cannot always make everyone happy, but I will always try to do what I feel is best for the community. I always consult with Raven over big decisions when possible and may hold off on making decisions in order to get her opinion on something before I decide anything because ultimately, this is HER species, and if she disagrees with me then what she says wins.
Running a species is not an easy task, especially for people who so hate to disappoint others, because there is just no possible way to make everyone happy and also continue to hold out for your vision of the species you have worked so hard to build up and maintain. We are going to disappoint you guys sometimes, and sometimes it will be incredibly valid and we may go back and take another look at our decision and change it when concerns are brought before us. But sometimes, as a species owner, you want what you want for your species and after all the work an owner puts into their species, they deserve to be able to make some decisions about them and how they want them to work, regardless if others agree or disagree. So please also try to see things from an owner's perspective when you disagree with something. We do not make these decisions to be mean or exclusive or to make others feel unwanted and invalidated.
I personally am semi-poly (I'm sure there is a better term for it but I don't know what it is, I personally do not want to be in a relationship with more than one person, but I am totally fine with my mate being with others, so I'm not sure where that makes me fall on the mono-poly spectrum xD). There are species in the real world that are very poly and have tons of mates over the periods of their lives, and there are species that choose one mate and mate for life. RPWs just happens to be one that chooses one mate at a time. To others who are poly, I am sorry this upsets you, I actually had to explain what poly was to Raven when the question first came up if RPWs could be poly. As others have stated, it has been in the RPW information since we first opened that they choose one mate and mate for life, so nothing about this has changed at all since we first began, and Raven is very adamant that it will not be changing. Please respect her ability as a species owner to be able to make decisions about her species, as she has changed a whole heck of a lot of other things that you guys have wanted her to change that she was very hesitant to do.
