Koori slowly woke, she saw Avalon's fur and hugged it, she rested like she was sleeping for awhile longer, she was very tired

Slowly, and carefully, James slipped down out of his tree, and approached the dead rabbit. At this stage after the kill, he was always catious. Predators, like cougars, foxes, or even wolves could be lurking, scavanging for kills. The scent of a recent kill would bring them, and he didn't want to risk his life for a rabbit that he had caught with a rock. He lunged forward, snatching it, and darted back the tree. Soon, he was next to Chris again, grinning.

Jake had already climbed a tree but was still dragging the deer up. He didn't want to risk wild animals finding where he ushually slept. He pulled it up to a branch but it shook and made a loud noise of leaves rustling. He hoped the girl and that mutt wheren't around, he didn't feel like having another argument.

Chris smiled at him then her eyes widened in horror.chris was fast.she shoved james behind her just as the cat leaped, not knowing if he had landed on the branch behind her or not.the cougar screamed and the wolf girl and the big predator fell to the ground.chris slashed it sharply across the chest with her knife, leaping backwards onto her feet.she had not been hurt, only knocked over, though the cougars claws had created only small puncture wounds, she had acted fast. she snatched up a stick, raising it high above her head, she held the knife at ready as well, her shoulders hunched, teeth bared.she let out the scariest snarl she could conjour up.the cat was young, not that big for its species and the sight of the raised stick was making it uneasy.he prowled forward a few steps but chris jabbed the knife through the air in warning and it screamed at her again before slowly backing away into the trees.she stood there, her heart pounding and looked at james, a hurried look on her face."we must go...."she breathed."back to koori."she was panting, chris had acted brave but was actually terrified.though the strong girl knew to make youself look large front of a cougar.the animals would not usually want to waist energy on prey that was too strong to go down quickly.

Koori was wide awake now, hugging Avalon, 'Not again! Why is it when ever i fall asleep they ditch me?!' Koori was getting sick of being ditched well sleeping. 'They'll come back, dont worry.' Avalon's eyes spoke to her and she believed him
