The first sight

Postby LightHorse131 » Thu Jul 23, 2015 1:14 pm

Day 1- I woke up to my alarm, turned on my phone that sat on the bed-side table and looked at the time. 1 am, not my ideal time in the morning but if I wanted to compete in this years Mustang Makeover I needed to wake up. I walked outside into the pitch blackness and opened my car door, I sat there for a while with my hand on the key, finally I closed the door and reversed back towards to white float that sat next to the shed.
I hooked up the float and by now it was almost 2 in the morning. After making a coffee and brushing my hair, i checked all windows and doors making sure they were locked. Put the working dogs in the back of the ute and started my long journey.
I stopped at the next town which was an hour away and put petrol in my 2010 4x4 Ford Ranger.
The second stop was at 11.30 am, I had been driving for around 10 hours now and was very hungry! I stopped at McDonalds to have a rest and something to eat, I quickly got back into the car and made my way to Cottonwood Ranch.

I turned down the dirt drive way were I saw the sign Cottonwood Ranch, I could feel the adrenaline pouring through my veins and could see my Blue Heelers running from side to side on the tray of the ute. I parked my ute and got out, my dogs waited for a move of my hand to signal them to get down, I walked around the yards looking for my horse. I stopped at one of the yards and peered over to blue tarp fence and saw the magnificent colt I was going to train.
His silver mane and tail flowed in the wind.
I whispered, Eagle!
My 1 year old heeler ran into the yards, straight to wards Eagle, I yelled at Jack to get back but the young pup just kept going, barking at the colt I was scared for both dog and horse. Something took my attention, Eagle seemed to want to play with the dog and ran at him playfully then ran off again and repeated the same actions over again.
After a long wait I was able to load my boy into the float, he was a bit scared of people at first but seemed to have no problem with the float.
Then I started the journey, 12 hours back to my farm
