She pushed a bundle of strengthening herbs towards the tom. The black and white she-cat looked around the camp to see if anyone was watching them. ''You can't say things like this in the middle of camp,'' her voice was barely more than a whisper. ''Aspenwhisker, I would be happy with you. I will be happy with you. Anyday. But I'll only be willing to be with you if we keep it a secret. At least for now. That way I can keep my rank too,'' her voice was so low that she doubted Aspenthorn could even hear her, let alone anyone else.

His voice was back to normal no longer whispering. "I was thinking of going for a walk later, do you think that would be ok? Or am I stuck in camp all day?"

Acornfrost swished her tail then jumped forward, cracking the squirrel's neck. She murmured a nearly inaudible thank you, picking up her catch. She continued into the forest, scenting the air for more prey.
