The little wolf opened her eyes as she heard the door opening. She stretched herself and yawned, ready for training. It wasn't too exciting last time, but she kept her hopes up and told herself it would be better.
"I'm glad that you're up Lyra. Would you like to show me how fast you can go? Swim from one end of the bottom of the pool to the other. I will be timing you."
Lyra's tail popped up, she was very excited to show off her speed. For once she had no trouble hearing humans. Ever since she was in the Aquarium, and maybe even when she was still in the sea, she was so quick that no one could catch her. It had helped her hiding ability too, as she could pick out the best places to hide, then dart over there, when the predator's, or guard's, attention was directed at someplace else.
"Start whenever you're ready!"
When she swam, it was as if she had turned into fire. But it wasn't quenched by the water, and instead cut through it like a knife. It took almost no time at all to reach the other side. Luckily, she stopped before she crashed into the wall, and swam upwards for air.
"Amazing! You've beaten all the other wolves in this building! I am proud to have someone as fast as you."
Lyra's eyes gleamed at the praise, and listened carefully as her trainer left through the door.
"...And she was amazing, and I don't think any other Aquarius Wolf I've trained has gone as fast as her, even though she is only a pup."
"Well, I think that she should definitely deserve an award. Perhaps the..."
Lyra couldn't hear any more of the conversation at the point, and suspected the other person had deliberately dropped his voice to avoid her hearing him, but she felt a lot lighter, and lot less worried. She didn't feel so tired, and spent the rest of the day splashing about in her tank.
