1 paragraph story (max) of something from his past: he was supposed to be named bullet; that's what his father wanted to name him. wanted him to be known among all of the quaggas for his speed, just like his dad was. however, the day of his birth, something happened that changed the name. humans. they wandered onto his reserve, their huge vehicles tearing into the dirt and soil, throwing it everywhere. it was so thick that one couldn't breath in without inhaling the sand; unfortunately, his father breathed in too much of it, and passed along shortly after the humans took a few of the herd members. his mother decided, that due to the crazy amounts of dirt being thrown around, and by the miracle that the little stallion survived, he would be named after the occurrence in the deserts; Desert Sand Storm.

1 paragraph story (max) of something from his past: When Dune was a young foal, he was very curious and adventurous. Dune would wonder off into the nearest forest or search the darkest caves with little to no fear of what could be lurking in there. His family and friends knew about his curious behavior and usually never got too worried when they did not know where he was. He always came back. Except for one day. Dune was drawn over to a very rocky terrain. The rocks varied from all shapes and sizes. He found them very fun to hop and play on. But when he tried to make a long jump, he did not land all the way on the rock and slipped off into what seemed to be just sand. Dune was relieved at first that it was not anything dangerous, until he tried to move. Turns out he had fallen into sinking sand. Dune panicked and thrashed around in the sinking puddle until he had given up hope. His family finally went looking for him as dusk hit the sky. Once they found him, he was up to his head in the sinking sand. To this day, Dune hates sand, even if its just normal. His dramatic past event has caused him to never, ever trust the looks sand.
