Im talking to LGD owners, and I'll be talking with our vet as well. So we will figure it out eventually. I'm just trying to get some options together. She is moms dog, so ultimately it's up to her on what happens.

Ooh, what are you hoping happens? :O

Yeah, I would also spay her before she goes into heat. Sorry she isn't allowed inside. I have a specialized outdoor kennel thing for my mom's dog, Daisy. I built it with my step dad, since he works at a metal shop. It'l like a metal green house the size of a kennel for like a mastiff, and it's got no bars on the sides or the back, but a wire gate in the front. The roof is a little dog house roof with some glued on shingles that were left over from re-doing the roof. It works pretty well for when Daisy isn't allowed inside, but she only just starting going into heat for her first time, so I try to be out there with her whenever I visit my mom...

not sure how well the wire gate would work for a powerful dog though, so you might want to test it. But if you can't build that, you might want to try and find something like that for your girl. I didn't try to look up stuff to buy one, since I could build it with my step dad for free... so not sure what you'll find, but, good luck with that! Hopefully you can let her inside soon.

The hope is to have my own place in the next couple months. So if I have my own place, then I can easily bring her inside during her heats and it would be a lot easier.

Chewie would just have to come stay with my parents.

If no progress has been made on getting my own place by the time she gets ready to go into heat, then I will suggest to my mom that we go ahead and spay her. I'd much rather her be grown before being spayed though.

best of luck on that though.I know you can get these things that are like diapers for dogs, and they work pretty well for when dogs go into heat I hear. Daisy is the only dog I've been with though that's gone into heat, and I'm not with her 24-7 either, so I'm not quit sure how well it works first hand, since at my own place, I won't have to deal with it, since I only have my two boys...

Speaking of spaying, I may or may not have convinced by mom not to spay Rosie nor neuter Loki. Though I do have a question, regarding rosie. It is normal that she hasn't had a heat cycle yet? She'll be two in January, hence why I'm asking if anyone has had this with their females before. She's updated on shots and vet visits so she's healthy.

My boys are running about in the field again. Hope the baby goat is in her pen. I'm working on rebuilding a new one for him, since he keeps hopping over the one that I just bought for him... I guess baby goats like being chased by dogs? hahaha! I thought he would have learned by now, but the dogs won't do anything to him at least. They know not to lay a paw on the goat, or else they're in trouble...

well bye guys....

Sometimes when I get in a really bad mood, I like to give Chewie a spoonful of peanut butter. It never fails to amuse me and make me feel better. He of course loves it, silly boy loves peanut butter.

Princess took herself on a run tonight. My stepdad accidentally opened the back door and let her out, so of course she took off running through the pasture. Bee lined to the neighbors fence of course. She had a ton of fun running up and down the fenceline. Then once she finished running, she took off right back into the house after going potty! (To be clear, I was trying to catch her, I just didn't manage to grab her when she went past.)

I'm very glad she decided to behave and came back in instead of taking off.
