Swanfoot froze, tears dripping down her face. She couldn't move, do anything. "Lionlight!" Swanfoot yowled, suddenly laying over his lifeless body. The white cat cried, large tears running down her face. "I'm so sorry." Swanfoot whispered. She pulled herself up, and slowly began to lick the blood off of his wounds. The white cat yowled in sadness. It doesn't have to be this way! Please wake up! Please! The white cat trembled as she listened to the other cats talk about The Dark Forest. She felt as if a large hole had opened up in her. After a minute or two, Swanfoot finally spoke to the other cats. "I-I'm sorry. C-Can I carry h-him?" she asked, shakily. The sad cat didn't care if there was a kittypet, she just wanted to go home.

Swanfoot sniffed, her face wet. "W-Would you help me?" she asked, quietly. The white cat crouched low to the ground, waiting for Lionlight to be loaded onto her back. "Yes, let's return to camp." Swanfoot mewed, not as confident in herself now. Who did this to him? Why? How? Who could be so evil? What did Lionlight do wrong? Swanfoot's face twisted in confusion and pain. Someday, I'll find who did this. They will regret it. Swanfoot's face returned to normal, but her eyes still burned with hate and vengeance. They will pay...

Swanfoot felt the weight of Lionlight being loaded on her back once more. A few tears dribbled out before a flood started once again. The white she-cat slowly padded towards camp, her tail dragging on the ground behind her. The moon was high in the sky as the warrior grieved the death of someone who may have been more than just a friend to her. She reached camp and saw Faithstar. Swanfoot sighed a sad sigh before gently laying Lionlight on the ground.

Nightwing watched as Swanfoot came back to camp, opening his mouth to talk to her he watched her walk past and gently lay Lionlight in the middle of the clearing. The dark brown tom sighed, leaving his post at the entrance to sit next to Sawnfoot pressed against her side trying to comfort her. "He was a good warrior. I'm sure he went down fighting, he wouldn't leave you." The large tom tired to swallow his jealousy as he groomed the white she cat next to him hoping to calm her down.

Lionlight had reached the place of his ancestors, and was greeted by familiar and new faces. Some were almost completely see-through, nothing but a starry wisp. Others looked like the living cats. He turned to Hopestar, who was looking greeting the other cats, her tail twined with his in a motherly way. "Stay strong, brave lion," she whispered, obviously sensing his heartbreak from being separated from Swanfoot. "She'll be here with you, eventually. I had to wait for Boulderstar after I was killed." Lionlight sighed sadly. "Why did he kill me? What joy does it bring to him?" He murmured, eyes somber with grief. He looked over at Hopestar, her stunning blue gaze piercing his with heartfelt sympathy. "For cat's with pure souls, it will always be a mystery." She said, touching her nose to Lionlight's cheek gently. "He killed me too." Lionlight looked at the ancient She-Cat with shock. They had more in common than he would ever have thought. Both stripped away from their loved one at the claws of the same Dark Forest tom. Another grave thought came into his mind and he spoke it to Hopestar, "But you and Boulderstar were already mates. Swanfoot and me weren't. What if she comes to StarClan, but in love with another tom?" Hopestar shook her head slightly. "The final decision will be hers. She'll choose best for her," She said, sitting down. "Come. let us see where she is." Lionlight joined her and sat down. "Close your eyes," the She-Cat whispered. he obeyed, closing his eyes. He saw Swanfoot, grieving over his body. She was really upset, and her blue eyes were glazed over with sadness. He choked slightly. He couldn't bear to see her in pain like this. When Nightwing approached her to comfort her, his already broken heart shattered. What if she fell for Nightwing?

As the patrol came back into HopeClan's camp, Briarleaf had woken up. He stretched and walked out of the warriors' den to see Swanfoot and Nightwing mourning over a body - Lionlight's body, in fact. The two cats didn't know each other very well, but Briarleaf thought it was best to come up and hopefully say a few words to cheer up the mourning duo. "Lionlight was a brave warrior; he would have fought until the end."

"Thanks, Nightwing. You too, Briarleaf." Swanfoot whispered, half-heartedly. She looked down at Lionlight and sat, her white tail curling over her paws. One of her tears dripped down on his face. Sorrow mixed with confusion, hate, and revenge in her eyes. Swanfoot began to arrange Lionlight to make it look as if he were sleeping. She dragged herself up and padded to the place where they first sat and picked a single flower. The white cat then went over to Lionlight once more and placed the flower next to him.

[ I'm watching Bambi and writing sad paragraphs. I'm almost in tears because the music is going to these posts. ]

Nightwing sighed watching the she cat he loved so much be so broken up over someone else. He shook his head, pressed against her to keep her warm in the long vigil through the night for the fallen warrior. He went back to grooming Swanfoot's fur, purring as he tried to sooth her. "We will get whoever did this. They will pay."

Mossheart sat up sleepily, looking around the dark nursery. The large queen creeped out of the warm den, walking over to her fallen clan mate, slowly grooming his fur. She sighed shaking her head. "He was so young... He is at peace in Starclan now Swanfoot." Her heart went out to her brother, trying so hard to comfort the grieving she cat.

Unsure of what to say about Lionlight's demise, Briarleaf responded with a nod to Swanfoot's response. Seeing Nightwing calm down Swanfoot and plan his revenge on a cat no one likely knew, Briarleaf knew Nightwing was in control. There was nothing else that Briarleaf could do at this very moment. Knowing this, Briarleaf went back to the warriors' den to try and sleep until sunrise, he was sure someone else would take vigil.

Rowanlog followed his mate out of the nursery, towards a dead Lionlight's body. Rowanlog's eyes lit up in shock, which turned to sympathy once he noticed Swanfoot grieving in a miserable state. He sat close to Mossheart, with their fur brushing. "May StarClan light his path to the place of stars," He murmured sadly, but loud enough for Swanfoot to heart. "He will be waiting for us, in the ranks of our ancestors." Rowanlog looked over at Mossheart, eyeing her belly that was swollen with his and her kits. He would never get to see our young ones grow up, he thought sadly, he wanted Lionlight to be a part of their lives. He was a very nurturing tom, who was good with kits. It was not his time to die.
