Really disappointing that I have to post this reminder here: Everything you post or link to on CS must be child-friendly. Do not talk about inappropriate animes/mangas or even mention genres falling into this category. If you do so regardless, you will get in trouble and may even be banned.

watching god eater and in the first minute I have a problem with the animation. If I had the patience to animate I feel like I could do it better ( not talking about the art style) . But that was just the first minute, I hope it can eventually change my mind

ah, i must agree. i haven't watched much of it yet but so far i didn't really like the animation.
maybe instead of using xat we could use chatzy? on xat you have to make an account if i'm not wrong and it would be easier to just tyoe in your cs username.

This should basically answer any problems that there were with the rule change and make it clear what's appropriate and what isn't.

The moderators came together and have gave their opinions and thoughts on this...this is what we have come up with.

"Is it fine to discuss yaoi/yuri manga/anime as long as they do not reference sexual themes?"
-No, none of these topics are child friendly and should not be mentioned, linked to or discussed on a childrens website.

"There's also gore and violence pictured in a vast majority of popular manga/anime (attack on titan is one major example). Is this considered 'too adult' for CS standards? If not, why are violent themes treated differently to sexual themes?"
-We've always allowed the discussions of more mature manga/anime as long as the discussions are about the characters, not the gore. Same goes for horror games. They're not treated differently. We allow talk about the characters/plot, not the sex/gore.

"What is considered 'too sexual'?"
-Our roleplay rules are extremely clear about what we consider what is too sexual.

-After researching these topics, we prefer that these terms not be used. We feel these terms, if any child got curious enough to google, would find disturbing and inappropriate images and links. If you want to describe boy love or girl love then you're free to just say homosexual/gay/lesbian relationships.

-No mature content on CS, PMs are apart of CS.

Guys, you expect to be treated more mature than the rest of the site but you've continued to slander the CS team by calling them 'homophobic' and 'unfair' (several members of the team are openly queer actually, that's quite redundant to say they're homophobic) when they are only doing what they're told to do. This type of behaviour gets threads locked and won't fix anything. You're making the situation worse for yourselves. I've sent in yet another help ticket to deal with the situation.



In Japan the term shōjo-ai (少女愛?, lit. girl love) is not used with this meaning, and instead tends to denote pedophilia (actual or perceived), with a similar meaning to the term lolicon (Lolita complex). The western use of yuri has broadened in the 2000s, picking up connotations from the Japanese use.27 Feb 2013



The Japanese and Western meanings of Shojo-ai are completely different. Allowing discussion of these means the potential to come across incredibly inappropriate material perhaps relating to the eastern definition however harmless the western meaning really is.

If you had a problem with the changes, you should have contacted a moderator instead of taking your frustration out in the thread, this attitude is not and won't be tolerated.

If the toxic attitude with this thread continues, I'll ask for it to be locked. CS does not need to deal with this type of behaviour, especially leading up to peak times on the site with the summer event. The fact that I've had to contact a moderator more than once about the same problem is ridiculous.

Also, it says here:

Discussion about gorier manga/anime is fine as long as the discussion does not focus on the gore but on the characters and plot. The comparison between the lenience they have with certain rules is an unfair one.

The rule in no way bans discussing homosexual relationships - it is explicitly sexual relationships that cannot be discussed, regardless of who the relationship is between/among. Content on CS needs to be kept child friendly, and you can see what is or is not acceptable romance-wise in the RP rules, as stated in the quote on the first page of this thread:

The question we were asked referred to yaoi/yuri specifically, but the rules apply equally to all relationships. An explicitly sexual heterosexual relationship is just as inappropriate to discuss here as any other.
