Smokeblossom licked her chest, blushing. "Pfft. Darn, I was hoping I would get to surprise you. Though almost everyone has guessed by now." The white point queen purred, rubbing against him. "I'm not moving into the nursery just yet... Are you. Well... How do you feel about this?" The queen fidgeted nervous herself about kitting and being a mother.


Aspenthorn nodded, waving his tail again. He opened his mouth moving as slowly and lightly as he could, listening for the familiar scratching of a mouse. His mind drifted off when Chickadeeflight mentioned how she liked kits swallowing down a confession. He had no idea how she felt, and she was so loyal to the stupid code forbidding how he felt, how he wanted her to feel. He growled to himself, springing off the log and landed on a grey fluffy squirrel squawking slightly in surprise as he miscalculated and crumbled slightly, his right paw hooked in the squirrel. He gave a quick killing bite, blushing in embarrassment from his daydream. He swallowed down a confession yet again sighing. To avoid talking he opened his jaws scenting for more prey.

"well it matters how dedicated you are to it... if you don't spend a lot of time with it you wont excel... but usually it takes about 4-5 moons" she purred sitting down and casually curling her tail around her delicate looking paws and her blue eyes flickered slightly "we can go work on that now... many apprentices practice with out their mentors so they can make them proud on their next lesson..."

She watched as the tom almost missed the squirrel. Chickadeeflight took a few steps towards him and flattened her ears against her head. ''Are you alright?'' The she-cat was worried about the tom. She made sure to keep her voice down so that she wouldn't scare all of the prey away. She turned and picked a tansy plant to try to hide her embarrassment after she had acted so worried.

The tom nodded in agreement as heard what the she-cat had suggested. ''Work on battle training? I'd love to.'' The tom stood up and licked his paw, looking at her out of the corner of his eye. ''I must warn you that I'm pretty good with my battle moves.'' The tom's jaws gaped in a yawn.

Aspenthorn quickly licked his chest hiding his own embarrassment wanting to purr over her worry, hey, it was something. "Yeah I'm fine, I got the squirrel. It was just a scrape." He poked the squirrel to prove his point, watching the black and white she cat get back to gathering herbs. The large tom sniffed the air, heading into the hollow log searching for mice or maybe a snake finding shelter.


Smokeblossom swallowed her worry about being a mother purring, she nudged her mate rolling her eyes. "I have no idea. But they have your silly energy. Maybe we should call one Fishkit." She wrapped her tail over her paws, calmed about this just for a moment. She couldn't tell her mate how worried she was about raising them, not when he was this happy. "I feel huge though, so more than one."

Cloudpaw shyly padded into the clan clearing, looking around quietly. He made his way to the fresh kill pile, taking a small bird and bringing it over to a corner in the clan clearing. The young apprentice bit into his meal, avoiding eye contact.

A pair of ice blue eyes pierced into the mouse's mottled gray fur. Within a few quick strides, Acornfrost snapped the small but plump neck of the prey. She turned around, soft white tail waving away some fallen leaves, and picked up the thrush and shrew she had also caught.

The black and white she-cat listened to him explain. ''Well, alright. If the scrape seems to get any worse just let me know. Great job catching the squirrel.'' She looked over her shoulder as she saw saw him enter the hollowed log. ''Be careful in there.'' Her ears swiveled around to listen in case the tom said something.

Aspenthorn nodded, waving his fluffy tail to signal he heard her before that too vanished inside the log. He crept along silently, ears pinned back as he watched a mouse at the other end of the rotting log, eating away at some seeds. The large tom lunged forward, successfully catching this one without injury. He went to turn to head back out to Chickadeeflight when he paused hearing a familiar hiss from deeper in the log. The large tom watched as a black adder slithered out the opposite end and made it's way for Chickadeeflight. The white tom yowled in warning and jumped, claws grasping the adders tail.

The medicine cat took horrified steps back away from the snake. She had learned basic battle moves and she knew how to hunt, but she couldn't face this Adder when it was coming straight for her. It's flexible head would easily latch on and if she ran there was still a good chance that it would catch up to her. Starclan! Please don't do this. She ran the treatment through her head several times.

Aspenthorn growled, using his claws in it's tail to drag it away from her and closer to him. Knowing his accident prone nature he was bound to get hurt, but if it meant saving Chickadeeflight... The large tom lunged forward giving a quick death bite to the large snake, holding his teeth in place as the snake thrashed violently. The snake finally stopped thrashing, and he let go, gasping. He held up one large paw, tinged slightly red. "Foxdung. It... It was..."
His vision was growing hazy and he wobbled next to the snake, in his struggle to save his love and kill it, the snake had bitten his paw. He smiled up at Chickadeeflight, eyes unfocused. "You are so beautiful..."
