Starlingfeather sighed and looked at their paws. His paws were like a lion's compared to her tiny
bird like paws. "I've always wanted a mate. I've wanted you as a mate. I want kits, a family, someone
to go to if I'm sad..." she sighed and looked up at his eyes. "I'd risk my rank for you any
day. I'd risk my life for you..." Starlingfeather mewed and wrapped her tail around him. His scent filled
the den like a cloud. She wanted it to be like that forever. She wanted him.

You started your training before I did, and I would always get myself tangled in thorns or get into skirmishes with my prey just so I had an excuse to see you in the medicine den." Thornstep's nervousness faded into warm affection and he pressed his body close to Starlingfeather's, her cool scent seeping into his fur and his senses. He wrapped his tail tightly around her sitting form and softly nibbled the tips of her ears in playful affection. But suddenly, his tone got serious. "Starlingfeather... If we really decide to do this, we have to be careful. We can't get caught."

The tabby tom zipped around near the apprentices' den a few times. He was playing with a leaf that had fallen from a tree. His paw reached out and batted at it several times until he pinned it down with his claws. They probably think I'm acting like a kit. The tom was worried for a few seconds but then went back to his usual nonchalant state of mood. I don't care if they do.
