name: Emil Marceau
Name Meaning: Emil: Rival
Marceau: After Marcel Marceau, a famous french mime.
gender: Male
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________personality: Even with his flamboyant yellow outfit, many seem to look Emil over, though all traces of his unobtrusive demeanor disappear when he becomes enveloped in his performance. Effortlessly transforming from a silent stranger to a completely different person than he was before; a dynamic and colorful personality which is deserving of his stage name, Le Papillon, meaning the butterfly. While in character he reveals a side of himself that is not often seen, being playful, innocent, and full of life, otherwise he is altogether a different person. One might describe him as quiet, unassuming, and dark, but still retaining a sharp wit. Miming, for Emil, is a chance to escape the boredom of everyday life and become someone else, even if only for a little while. It's sort of therapeutic for him, and not to mention extremely fun. Though Emil loves preforming with a large audience, most of the time he prefers to be left alone. He constantly is scribbling away in his journal, reading, and perusing mentally challenging such as chess, or indulging in a few riddles. Though he is usually closed off, Emil does let his jokester side shine though every now and then, he just has to get comfortable around his companions. This habit of becoming much more outgoing once he gets used to his company can be a bit of a shock to those who aren't used to his unpredictable behavior. A stranger would describe him as introverted, reserved, and even gentlemanly, but a close friend will tell you he's anything but. A sneaky, sarcastic, smart Alec more like.

Shadow's name meaning: Friend
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________favorite trick: A trick he concocted himself entitled "the beast", where Emil pretends to be messing around with some sort of animal in a cage and accidentally sets it free. He likes it because it's fun to preform and it earns him the most laughs.
Least favorite trick:The man in the box, Emil especially hates it because of the stupidity of it. It's the most well known, overused, and not to mention boring mime trick of all time, yet for some reason people still gather around to see it.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________Story:
Emil bit the tip of his long black nail thoughtfully and looked out at the crowds of people walking by, dull people going dull places under a dull overcast sky. No one smiled, no one offered any friendly greeting to another or even, it seemed, showed any acknowledgement of the other's existence. He frowned into his tea, and in the reflection checked is makeup. A smile spread across his black lips and he stood, smoothing out the front of his shirt. He wasn't about to let the gloom of this wretched day take over without a fight. He crossed to the side of the street and found a decent spot next to a sapling. At first he tried some typical tricks, the rope, the wind, and the dread man in the box. Slowly, to his pleasure, he gained interest. At first it was just a few sideways looks but eventually some stopped. First a young woman, then a couple, until finally he had a good sized crowd gathered to see his humble performance. Elated, Emil put his whole heart into it, garnering new energy off their laughter, which was to him the sweetest sound in the world. Eventually the crowd dissipated, and soon the street was still once again. But they left with smiles, and he knew his work there was done.
