Thornstep's eyes widened like full moons as Starlingfeather's muzzle pressed into his fur, a shiver shooting down his spine and lifting his fur along it. His heart pounded the entire rest of the walk back, and his mind whirred with countless thoughts and moral arguments. As they neared the camp, though, the warmth of the she-cat leaving his side made him visibly slump with disappointment. He blinked at her slowly in understanding, before giving a small nod. So it wasn't just a friendly nuzzle! She wouldn't have been so careful to keep her distance around other cats if she had no guilty thoughts. Why do I feel like this all of a sudden?
