Do we know what kind of bee is this suppose to be?
no pun intended
The only one that I can think of would be the female valley carpenter

But it doesn't really make much sense, because firstly the black carpenter bee was not fuzzy
And I would think that the male and female of the same species would grow out of the same growth.
Regardless, it is spectacular.
This and the blue banded are my favorites.

I had to dress up today's and make it my signature! I always name the first pet in a new litter after the artist so that as they grow, I can remember who did them. The one that I named Lacuna is the one who grew today, so I had to give her in her "Grown up" name as an acknowledgement of your work. I think she's sweet as can be.
