"Er, no," the shy tom murmured, the tips of his ears burning as he tried to gather himself enough to explain. "It's Hollytail. She.. I saw her earlier with fresh wounds on her body, although queens rarely leave the nursery. I think that Sandclaw's frequent disappearances are taking their toll on her. Would you mind keeping an eye on her?" Quickly, Thornstep's eyes widened and he added, "I-I mean, I don't want to tell you how to do your job, i-it's just--" He stammered and blushed deeply against his white fur, bowing his head and lowering his eyes submissively to try and give Starlingfeather the respect that she so deserved. "I'm sorry," the Tom whispered, his voice nearly inaudible.

is she still in the nursery?"

Thornstep quickly noticed the she-cats bowed head and rather slow movements, the exhaustion of a day's work obviously bearing down on her. "I'm not sure. Would you like me to help you? It must be difficult doing all of this responsible work on your own." He glanced away for a moment before looking back up at her, offering a polite smile.
