Runa looked to Nick and realized he hadn't seen her run off, but what made it worse is he was making noise, and one of the giants decided he wanted to go investigate. She didn't know how to get his attention without getting the giants attention. Well there was her option, but instead of yelling to him she grabbed her bow, readied and arrow, and let it fly. The arrow struck the giant in the chest about where his lung was, but this succeeded only in getting an angry Giant charging straight for her. She quickly fired another arrow, hitting him in the abdomen, but again this did little to slow him down and as the Giant got within striking distance, she froze. She stared in terror as it raised it's mighty club above it's head, ready to smash her into pulp. Not only this but the other Giant had taken notice of the fight and was making his way towards her. This plan had majorly backfired.

the other woman spoke about her ill dog, which did make laverna feel bad. she considered offering one of her dogs for sale, but it took so long to gain their respect. "i must go speak with maven black briar. she has friends who know everything about our local dogs. perhaps they could help you." she offered. maven did have guard dogs around, but people didn't typically see them. but maven had to have the connections to keep information flowing. anything to get another link to the world. she did worry, though as maven might blow her cover. hopefully the noble would recognize that she wasn't in outfit, and address her as katerina. but what would this woman do if she knew that she was actually a thief? after all, the girl was untouchable. she was about ti simply waltz up to maven black briar and as for a job.

"I'm coming with you." Ciri said, quickly hopping to her feet. She lifted her long arms over her head in a stretch, her eyes darting around the marketplace. She soon turned her attention back to Katerina. "If you don't mind, that is. Need to see if she knows the remedy for my dog's illness." She said quickly before parting her jaws in a long yawn. She hadn't slept in what seemed like forever, as she had been on a hunting trip for the past few days. She had only caught a few rabbits, missing her opportunity to kill an elk because her dog had started barking up a storm.

Nicholas' body froze, time seeming to slow as he saw what was to come. Runa was going to be crushed because she was trying to save him. This was literally the first friend he'd ever had that wasn't a dead person, and he wasn't sure he could live with that kind of guilt. "Runa!!" In a rush of panic, Nick did the only thing he knew how to do. Runa felt herself get thrown onto the back of a skeletal stallion and moved to safety an instant before the giant's club connected with her, catching the back end of the horse instead. It galloped on nonetheless, carrying her a safe distance away. Nicholas threw a rock at the nearest giant. "Hey! Troll face!" He couldn't really think of a better insult right now. "Over here, ya uglies!" This at least go ot their attention, and Nicholas readied himself for a fight a drew his sword, seemingly from nowhere. He called on the help of a few spectral trolls to aid him, and held his ground as the giants approached.

Runa closed her eyes and waited for the cold embrace of death, but it never came. Instead she felt herself get knocked backwards onto a horse as the Giant brought it's hammer down, striking where she would have been less then a second ago, but instead hitting the horse. She waited till she was at a safe distance before hopping off of the horse. She stopped for a moment and stared at the horse, now that she actually looked at it. She would check it out later, but first the Giants still had to be dealt with. She ran back towards the fight and spotted the Giants, making a mental note not to freeze up if it attacked her. She fired an arrow striking on of the Giants in the back of the knee, causing him to drop to one knee. Hopefully that would give Nick enough time to deal with that one. She then brought her aim to the next lumbering beast, loosing two more arrows, one striking the shoulder blade and the other striking the back of his neck.

Seeing that Runa had rejoined the conflict, Nicholas made the best of her attack and sliced the weakened giant across the throat, climbing up onto him as he fell. The second giant was too preoccupied fighting off both the ghostly trolls and the archer to notice Nick slaying his friend, of his next attack. Nick took this distraction and leaped towards the giant, plunging his sword into its chest and used his weight to pull it downwards. He kicked away just before the lumbering giant fell and rolled a few feet, getting up and running over to Runa. "Are you alright? Are you hurt or injured or anything? I'm so sorry I dragged you into this. I should have followed you when you went to a different place. I didn't mean to summon all these things, I just wasn't sure whay to do. Please don't hate me. You're my only friend." Nicholas went on and on, but he was speaking so quickly and he kept stumbling over his sentences that Runa could barely make out what he was saying.

Runa admired the swiftness of Nick's movements as he delivered the killing blow to both Giants. Runa watched Nick with a raised eyebrow for a moment as he ran over to her with a concerned look in his eyes. As he rambled she chuckled, gently pressing a finger to his lips to stop his rambling "I'm perfectly fine, it was actually kinda fun minus the almost getting crushed part. I can't remember the last Giant I fought, and the summoning was amazing! Especially the horse, and I could never hate you, your to cute to hate" she said with a laugh as she removed her finger moving towards the evicerated Giant corpses. They often had some pretty nice loot on 'em, it was usually worth dealing with the smell.

Nicholas just stood there, a stunned look on his face. He'd been so worried about everything that he'd never cinsidered that she was fine. And he was... 'too cute to hate'? Nick felt his face get hot. No one ever thought he was cute. Except Angel, but that's different.

Runa didn't find as much as she had hoped but maybe there was something here Nick would want, there was a pretty nice glass sword that the Giant must have used as a toothpick or something. She turned expecting him to be right next to her, but when she turned around she saw him standing in the same spot looking stunned and red faced, and only then had she realized that she had called him cute. Her own cheeks began to turn pink as she spoke "Hey what kind of sword do you have because I found a pretty nice one" she said averting her gaze from him
